The comments below this are interesting….
Sky Desperately trying to push the narrative that it’s the whole football country against City. I can promise you it really isn’t.

🚨 Simon Jordan Slams Hypocrisy Of Premier League Clubs Regarding #ManCity šŸŽ™"I think the hypocrisy of the industry is outstanding. These clubs believed City were involved in these things, etc., but it didn’t stop them from taking City’s money/selling their players to them" šŸ‘

It is mad the mental gymnastics people will do to blame fans for decisions that their clubs owners do. Then also expect them to be judge, jury and executioner. Without having access to any of the evidence that is still ongoing within a decision process. Wow.

The reason the American owners want city gone from the premier league is so they can turn it into an American style, no promotion no relegation league. Boot city out. Close the doors so they can’t get back in. Tie up all that delicious money. It’s obvious

Now it's everyone? An hour ago it was Khaldoon and Abu Dhabi. Funny how the circle widens once you get called on it.

I’ve seen it all - they’re using attendance for an under 21’s game as evidence now. 🫠

Neil Warnock: ā€œNot in a million years did #ManCity’s money mean they’d be successful - look at Tottenham. Pep Guardiola blended that team together - it won’t taint my opinion of him.ā€

And this will continue to happen, the premier league becomes the SPL. The American billionaires get their way and the ā€œleading world leagueā€ becomes what United/Liverpool/Chelsea/Arsenal want. A closed shop.

A very good (and surprisingly sensible take from Neil) on the recent furore
I haven’t posted for a couple of years… But here’s my simple thoughts on the Armageddon that seems to have occurred recently. 1/16

I’d have welcomed Newcastle and Villa being able to invest more. I’d have loved to see them sustain those great teams and genuinely challenge for the title. Wouldn’t that be better for the Premier League? Different teams. Different challenges. Different stories.

One thing I don’t get about this whole charade. When owners run clubs into the ground and they get declared bankrupt, journalists write about how awful it is for the fans. Yet now they’re baying for blood, demanding a club go out of existence. Will we get the same articles?

Not sure if I should be but we are taking our five year old to Liverpool (a) and getting a little concerned whether it’s going to be hostile/ a risk. Anyone else equally worried? Nuts that I should be thinking this for taking my son to watch the team he loves.

when we get relegated I wonder if everyone else is going to realise that we’ve basically sold English football to the Americans

Po-Tay-To / Po-Tah-To. Henry Winter Edition.
Enzo Fernandez is "clearly attempting to play" the ball when in an offside position. It clearly impacts on Lisandro Martinez, who's drawn away from Erling Haaland because Fernandez is diving for the cross. Poor use of VAR. Manchester United will have a grievance over that... ...but so will Manchester City over Bruno Fernandes not seeing red, or even yellow, in the Phil Foden incident. Foden deserved to go, no argument, straight red for violent conduct but Fernandes deserved some sanction. Fernandes is PFA POTY and FWA FOTY and part of the criteria for the vote is sporting attitude. City deserved the win - their intelligence, work-rate, ball retention and defiance all exceptional. Guehi and Anderson especially immense. City didn't look to have only 10. That's credit to them - and an indictment of United. Michael Carrick will get questioned - and he could have brought on Benjamin Sesko earlier - but the real questions should be for the United board. They strengthened the attack last summer, midfield this summer and intend to strengthen the defence next summer. Why wait? United's defence needed work last year, let alone wait for next year. Ineos and United's board have let Carrick down. United have smartened up the front of the house, done up the hallway, but left the back-door open. Diogo Dalot is hardly Gary Neville level. Nor is Noussair Mazraoui. Patrick Dorgu is a risk defensively. United should long ago have targeted a successor to Luke Shaw (currently injured) and brought one in rather than delay. Praying Shaw stays fit is not a practicable policy. Yes he played 38 PL last season. But, all comps, Shaw has missed 103 games in three seasons (before this). It's frustrating; because Shaw's elite when fit. As for centre-backs, Harry Maguire and Martinez arrived before Ineos. And they are starting for United. Ayden Heaven will doubtless mature into a very good centre-back one day. Carrick may not be in post by then. He could pay the price because the balance of recruitment was wrong. The Andrey Santos money (Ā£48m; nice work Chelsea) should have been used to strengthen part of the defence. But nothing should take away from City's deserved win. #MUNMCI

Enzo going for the ball but not touching it shouldn’t really count as offside when this counted two years ago

That half time show proves what we already know about Americans - they think the whole world wants to be them whilst the world does a collective face palm
