So the war could have been averted had NATO agreed to no more enlargement and they refused. That logically included Ukraine.
This is going to end up having far reaching consequences when a peace agreement has to be reached.
These comments below will also threaten NATO's very existence when the fallout of the war ending begins, which will be immense.
The background was that President Putin declared in the autumn of 2021, and actually sent a draft treaty that they wanted NATO to sign, to promise no more NATO enlargement. That was what he sent us. And was a pre-condition for not invade Ukraine. Of course we didn't sign that.
