Frenzy where every team plays yet I’ll still watch just 1 game (maybe part of another). Wednesday is then “crap we gotta pick someone to play today too”. Dumb. Know what’s dumber? NHL doing frenzy every year but never promoting it (to the point people don’t know it’s happening)
🚨NHL #FrozenFrenzy is tomorrow with all 32 teams in action! 🏒5p | The Point | ESPN2, ESPN+ 🏒6p | ESPN tripleheader begins 🏒6:15p | Start of 13 games on Power Play | ESPN+ 🏒7p | Frozen Frenzy whip-around show | ESPN2, Disney+, ESPN+ More: bit.ly/47gvfyX | *All ET

Buium: $9.38M Hutson: $8.85M Everyone sees the $530K difference and screams “overpay.” Now do the math. Hutson = 9.27% of the cap Buium = 8.26% when his deal starts $530K more. 1% less of the cap. The headline is scary. The math isn’t.

Tom Dundon putting his entire family's names onto the Stanley Cup, before all the players and staff and even omitting equipment manager bobby gorman who’s been with the canes organization since they were the whalers in 1976 is just disgusting.

JORGE POSADA: “I CAN’T WATCH TODAY’S BASEBALL.” Yankees legend Jorge Posada, a 4-time World Series champion and one of the faces of the dynasty years, (The Core 4) did not hold back during his interview on Abriendo El Podcast. Posada said today’s game has become too robotic, too obsessed with formulas, and too accepting of strikeouts. “The baseball being played today is garbage,” Posada said. He also pushed back hard on the analytics crowd trying to judge Derek Jeter’s defense strictly through modern numbers. “You can’t judge Jeter through a computer.” That line right there is pure old-school Yankees. Posada came from an era where putting the ball in play mattered. Moving runners mattered. Taking pride in not striking out mattered. He said back then, striking out 100 times in a season felt like you were not doing your job. Now? Guys can strike out constantly, hit 30 home runs, bat .202, and still get paid like stars. His message was simple: The game got smarter on paper, but dumber between the lines. #yankees #repbx

The Spurs know how to TAKE the lead, they just don't know how to HOLD the lead. And that's really the most important part of the lead: the holding

Really wishing we had John Sterlings call for this 1st HR. Wonder what it would have been.

Chat GPT suggested a few phrases that Sterling might have used: “It’s a Spencer Special! Jones has bones, and he crushed that one!” “The Spencer Fence-er!” Though I think he might have done better.

That was about as good a round as you could get.
Did the Jets just cook in Round 1? 🤔 No. 2: EDGE David Bailey No. 16: TE Kenyon Sadiq No. 30: WR Omar Cooper Jr.

Stanton’s protection is 179 Grichuk. He’s followed by 157 Grisham and 171 Chisholm. It’s time for Cashman to answer for this. It’s awful. Trade Dominguez for something or play him. These guys are awful.

In 1987, New York Yankee Don Mattingly set a major league record for grand slams in a season hitting 6. He didn't hit a single grand slam in any of his other 13 seasons. Happy birthday, Don

I asked #NYR GM Chris Drury for a specific area of the lineup he wants to prioritize in offseason and he pointed to what head coach Mike Sullivan said this morning about puck-moving D and the bottom six. "I thought those were two good comments by him and two specific areas."

Pitt gets rid of Sully and does the right thing playing Mantha for his $2M bonus. Sully & NYR scratch Fortescue preventing an $80k bonus for a rookie. Says a lot.
Mantha played in his 80th game of the season on Saturday, allowing him to collect the full $2 million in his performance bonuses.

$22 million for an average at best defensive center fielder that will hit 18-23 homers and hit .202 Brian Cashman should be investigated

What a cheap, trashy move for the organization. Total low class by Drury and Sully.

Michael Wilbon tees off on Geno Auriemma: "It's the disgraceful behavior of a massively insecure bully. It was petulant, it was classless." "Lied on national TV, round after round of interviews ... accused South Carolina's players of doing something his own players did as if we don't all have television."
