For the nerds out there, we've just updated our immigration glossary (bet you didn't even know it existed!) with a new design and linkable entries. We've tried to update the language but we welcome revisions and suggested terms.*

Update: Yesterday I shared that ICE's latest data on the Alternatives to Detention program appeared extremely inaccurate.
Today ICE updated its data to "fix" the problem. Guess what? More errors! 🧵

ICE posts flawed and misleading data on alternatives to detention AGAIN.
@ICEgov's latest data from Friday, provided by the contractor BI, claims that GPS ankle monitor use went from 4,576 on 5/6/2023 to 188,934 on 5/20/2023 (an impossibility).
No quality checks!

No idea, because ICE is so sloppy with its data. But even if they aren't monitoring that many people, if the contractor is overcharging and if ICE is as sloppy about invoices as they are about public data, could be getting overcharged literally hundreds of thousands $$$ a day.
