#RanchFire Incident Command is reporting they should have this fire stopped within the next few minutes, Air Tanker 102 making a drop on the Ridge.

This is the #RanchFire located at Ranch Road, Casitas Pass, Ventura County. Aircraft were originally on a Hold but got Requested, Air Attack 52, Air Tankers 01, 102, Copter 4 is Assigned.

Yesterday at the #NorteFire the Helicopters utilized the Trampas Canyon Reservoir located to the East of the Fire, and it’s better that they used that Reservoir instead of the Palisades Reservoir. Because here’s is the factors, The Palisades Reservoir is small even if it was filled and with where the Fire was located the Turnarounds would’ve been too quick, there was 7 helicopters on the Fire, it takes a minute for a Helicopter to fill up with water, the Trampas Canyon Reservoir wasn’t far at all, it was at a good distance especially for the Turnarounds for all the Copters, Safety is Priority for the Helicopters too.

#NorteFire Final Mapping done by OES Intel 24 puts the Fire at 570 acres.

Yes Malibu had a Brush Fire yesterday but it wasn’t a Wildfire, there was plenty of nearby water sources for these Helicopters, and Forward Progress was stopped on the Fire in just a few hours and Ground Resources made good progress on the Fire before the strong winds came, they had a good Initial Attack Response on this Fire. Currently holding at 146 acres with 39% containment, stop your fear mongering @Milajoy.

#NorteFire All aircraft is off the Fire for the evening, no need for them tomorrow. Fire Activity completely diminished this evening, with no flare ups, any smoke that can be seen is likely interior or from structure, all Evacuation Orders remain in place.

#NorteFire Fire Activity has Diminished all around the Perimeter, Helicopters and Ground Resources are still dealing with the Hotspots, haven’t heard of any other Structures getting involved in the past 30 minutes, will continue to Monitor the Fire if anything changes.

#NorteFire OES Intel 24 Mapped the Fire at 465 acres at 2:00 PM, these Perimeters do not Confirm if Structures were Damaged or Destroyed.

#NorteFire OCFA has no other Available Resources for the Fire, Requests will be going out of Region. Intel 24 is still overhead mapping the Fire as it keeps progressing.
