This weekend less than 5 minutes from Western Washington someone was shot and killed at a house party. Some of my friends were there a mere hour before, and most had walked by it over the course of the night.
Safety in numbers didn't feel like it was going to cut it, especially with the events of the previous night. What was supposed to be a fun night was overshadowed by worry.
