Donald Trump called his father's $1 million loan "small." In 1990, his father's lawyer delivered $3.35 million to Trump's struggling casino, which later went bankrupt.
New Jersey regulators called the casino transaction an illegal loan. The casino kept the money and paid a $65,000 fine.
In the video below, Trump explains his starting capital: "My father gave me a small loan of a million. I had to pay him back with interest."
In December 1990, Trump Castle was facing an interest payment. Fred Trump's lawyer arrived with a certified check for $3.35 million.
A casino dealer exchanged the check for 670 gray chips, each worth $5,000. The casino made its bond payment that day.
The next day, another $150,000 arrived by wire. Fred Trump's lawyer collected 30 more chips.
New Jersey regulators investigated and called the transaction an illegal loan. The casino kept the money and was fined $65,000.
About a year later, Trump Castle went bankrupt. Donald Trump gave up half his ownership to creditors.
In 2015, Trump said his father had lent him $1 million, which he repaid with interest. He argued that amount was small compared with what he later built.
In 2018, The New York Times reviewed Fred Trump's tax records and reported that he transferred at least $413 million to his son over the years. Trump's lawyer denied allegations of fraud and tax evasion.
The reported transfers were 413 times the size of Trump's "small loan."
Did Donald Trump build his fortune independently, or did his father's money give him the crucial advantage?

@margbrennan: āNo, the president of the United States said this on camera. He said, āI told them to do it.ā Did he tell that to you?ā
AG Blanche: āNo, that wasnāt your question. No, he didn't say that on camera.ā

Abdul just dropped the coldest shit of the night. Trump's ugly bill gutted healthcare for millions while Obama expanded it. Some genius in the crowd hits him with "Obama is not in the Epstein files either" & the place erupts. That's the whole contrast right there. 1 side protects predators & cuts your care. The other side doesn't. Abdul's the 1 telling the truth & Michigan knows it.

I CALLED TO CANCEL MY FAMILYāS HEALTH INSURANCE BECAUSE I COULDNāT AFFORD IT ANYMORE.
The rep asked why.
I told her I was paying $640 a month for a family plan with a $8,500 deductible.
Thatās $7,680 a year just to keep the policy active. And if someone gets seriously sick, I could still owe thousands before insurance starts covering more of the bill.
She explained that the plan helps pay for eligible care after I meet my deductible.
I told her I understood the policy. What I donāt understand is how a family can spend nearly $8,000 a year on insurance and STILL be afraid to go to the hospital.
She had nothing to say.
WEāRE PAYING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO PROTECT OURSELVES FROM MEDICAL BILLS THAT COULD STILL FINANCIALLY DESTROY US. WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT?
