1) A trade deficit is not a loss 2) The deficit with Canada was $27B last year, not the $90B he keeps using 3) The deficit with Canada exists because American companies buy a lot of cheap Canadian oil 4) Uh, what
Trump: I do not want to lose $90 billion for the privilege of allowing Canada to have a healthcare system and other things that they shouldn't have. They spend our money!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The statement in the video misstates the US-Canada trade deficit as a $90B loss subsidizing healthcare; the goods and services deficit was $27B in 2025 and stems mainly from US purchases of Canadian oil while Canada's system is funded by its own taxes. usafacts.org/articles/us-ca… canada.ca/en/health-cana… realeconomy.rsmus.com/market-minute-… ustr.gov/countries-regi…

“Suspended…” What are these lower-than-low standards for cops? Most of us would likely be immediately fired from our jobs if this kind of behaviour came to light in our respective workplaces.

FYI Anko van der Werff and @SAS, firing elected union leaders for doing their jobs is illegal in Canada but despicable everywhere. @AirCanada @ALPACanada @swedishpilots alpa.org/press-room/2026/10/…

The United States convinced Ukraine to willingly give up their nuclear weapons by promising to protect them from Russian aggression. Here we are, decades later, betraying their trust. Those who support Vladimir Putin are the enemies of freedom and democracy

I never met Steve, but know a lot of his friends. By all accounts a great guy and a tragic loss. My condolences to everyone affected by his passing.

Some nice northern lights over the ocean but sadly the fog didn’t show up. Too bad as my right-seater has never done a CAT 3 outside the sim! The good news is we were half an hour early. Bed time then perhaps a cask ale or 2 at a nice pub. 28 hours to enjoy London.
After 4 great days off at home sadly it’s back to work I go. A quick 6:20 to LHR on NAT U tonight with some potential for a foggy arrival. Hoping maybe for my first real world CAT 3 auto land in the A330! TEMPO 0504/0510 BKN005 PROB40 TEMPO 0506/0510 0300 FG VV///

Nearly three out of every four firearms recovered in Trinidad and Tobago and submitted to US authorities for tracing in 2025 were linked to the US firearms market, a sharp increase from just over half in 2020. For more: guardian.co.tt/news/us-gun-t…

I was thinking the same thing watching all these Canadian provinces implementing permanent daylight saving time recently. 🤦🏽‍♂️
Senator Cotton is right. Permanent Daylight Savings has been tried and Americans didn’t like it. The better way is permanent Standard Time because it’s based on science. No dark mornings, it keeps our time in sync with the Sun, and no more changing the clocks. Arizona has been on Standard Time year round since 1968 without issue.

Autumn weekend evenings are the best. Negronis with vermouth brought home from Spain around the fire and then a nice dry German Silvaner in the hot tub. Quality time with the Mrs before I begin a rough stretch tomorrow.

Damn. Hoping for a good outcome here.
The missing jet is a Canadian registered IAI 1125 Astra SPX tail number C-GRJP that operates as an air ambulance. The flight was from Bermuda to Boston.

C-39 represents a giant step backwards for Canadians b/c it will work against the cultivation of healthy labour relations. It falsely implies you can truly believe in collective bargaining OR be on Team Canada, but not both. @ALPACanada knows how to get deals for our members.

PP is the most dishonest Canadian politician of my lifetime and that’s saying something! None of this is remotely true.
How does it save money for Canadians to force waitresses and welders to pay taxes to the EU?

She is 100% correct. Collective bargaining works BECAUSE workers have the ability to strike, and employers have to respect that power, even if it's rarely used. Without it, bosses will refuse to bargain in good faith because Carney will just bail them out
CLC President Bea Bruske: "If there is no leverage to actually force both employers and unions to come and bring their best foot forward to have those difficult conversations, because one side believes that they can resolve this issue in another way, those conversations are not going to happen."
