You Are Hungry Because You Are Lazy —Director-General of APC,Yari Tells Nigerians At APC Rally
Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has sparked reactions after telling Nigerians that laziness is partly responsible for the hunger being experienced in the country.
Yari made the statement on Saturday while speaking at an APC presidential campaign rally in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The former Zamfara State governor argued that Nigerians should not blame the government alone for their economic struggles, insisting that personal effort also plays a role in people’s ability to provide for themselves.
“You are hungry because you are lazy. If you work hard, you will not be hungry,” Yari said.
According to him, a significant number of Nigerians, particularly young people, are unwilling to engage in productive work and instead prefer to remain at home expecting financial assistance.
Yari recalled that in the past, Nigerians were more inclined to farming and other forms of manual labour, saying people could work on their farms during the day and have food to eat by evening.
He lamented that the attitude has changed, claiming that some young Nigerians today are reluctant to take up farming or learn vocational skills, choosing instead to spend time on their phones while blaming the government for their economic difficulties.

GOOD DAY, MR PRESIDENT: NIGERIANS DESERVE ACCOUNTABILITY
Good day, Mr President.
I congratulate you on spending a night in one of Nigeria’s states outside Lagos and Abuja. I hope you enjoyed the warmth, hospitality, and delicious cuisine of Akwa Ibom, which I am sure is even better than those of the destinations where you have spent over 260 days outside Nigeria since coming into office.
I sincerely hope this visit will inspire you to travel to the remaining 33 states of the federation, spend time with the people and, more importantly, explain what your administration has done with the ₦15.8 trillion saved from the removal of fuel subsidy, the over $100 billion you have borrowed, the increased revenues accruing to the government from taxing Nigerians, and the additional government revenues which your administration celebrated last year as having surpassed its target.
Nigerians deserve to know how many that were pulled out of poverty within this period, how many out-of-school children were returned to school, and how many functional primary healthcare centres you have built. They also deserve to know how much electricity supply has improved, especially given your promise that if you do not fix power, Nigerians should not vote for you. They deserve an explanation of how you have secured the country, which still ranks among the most terrorised countries in the world.
Mr President, Nigerians deserve answers. They deserve to know what has been done with the resources entrusted to your government.
The New Nigeria we want to build will be based on accountability, transparency, and the physical, measurable impact of our public resources on the lives of citizens.

ENGAGING WITH THE UNITED NATIONS: UPHOLDING DEMOCRACY AND THE PEOPLE’S MANDATE
After I met with the European Union Commission yesterday, 5th November 2026, I welcomed a United Nations delegation to the Obidient House in Abuja for a courtesy visit.
Our discussions addressed pressing concerns facing Nigeria, including the current cost-of-living crisis, the well-being of our citizens, and the credibility of the upcoming elections.
I also used the occasion to urge the international community to uphold Nigerians’ democratic right to choose their leaders peacefully in the next elections through a free, fair, and credible process that genuinely reflects the will of the people. The international community must remain steadfast in protecting this democratic principle.
I appreciate the United Nations delegation, led by Leonardo Santos Simão, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique and currently the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for West Africa, as well as his team, for their visit and the productive exchange.

Dear Friends,
My name is Adetutu Balogun, and I am the convener of #AdoptAFamilyAtXmas.
I am writing to ask for your support.
This initiative started six years ago with a simple mission: to support families in need during the Christmas season.
For many people, Christmas is a time to gather with family and friends, share laughter, and enjoy a festive meal together. Unfortunately, this is not the reality for everyone. Many pensioners, widows, widowers, single parents, and vulnerable families struggle to meet their daily needs, making the prospect of a Christmas celebration seem far beyond their reach.
With your support, #AdoptAFamilyAtXmas (#AFAX2026) can help change that.
We are seeking donations of ₦20,000 per family. Every naira you donate goes directly to the family adopted.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
Yours sincerely,
Adetutu Balogun

Do not Undermine Democracy
I have received with shock the news of an order by the Federal High Court in Abuja nullifying the emergence of the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and all the actions he has taken. This is unsettling and surprising.
I do not challenge the ruling of the court. The court of law is constituted to determine disputes according to the law. My concern is that three months before a general election, it is in the public interest to have certainty. It is not good to have too many uncertainties about candidates and parties a few weeks before a presidential election. This instability is obviously engineered by the ruling party, just as they have done against me in the Labour Party and continue to do so to close down civic space for a robust campaign. It is also from the same rulebook that manufactures violence against us in our campaigns.
One mark of democracy is that at all times, it is voters and not courts that choose leaders. I trust in the judiciary. As a public officer, I have shown deep respect for the judiciary. I appeal that we protect the integrity of democracy by not undermining the free and fair choice of candidates.
The sustenance of democracy in Nigeria, in the midst of encroaching military rule in West Africa, should strengthen our resolve to protect opposition politics and not stamp out opposition parties. It is because of the importance of opposition to the sustenance of democracy that I have always promised that, as President, I will take a special interest in ensuring opposition parties are stable and thriving, and that opposition candidates are not persecuted out of electoral contests.
This is a time to strengthen our democracy by allowing the opposition to thrive.

In 2027, Nigerians are preparing for both free and fair, unfree and unfair elections.

Bastard!
You only seem to have all the energy in the world when dealing with citizens. You never come online to threaten bandits and terrorists like this. But I don’t blame you; I blame Nigerians who embrace classism so much that you think ordinary citizens are incapable of causing destruction and chaos.
You fear bandits and terrorists far more than you fear millions of citizens because those citizens are still trying to be civil and reasonable with animals like you, Nigerian politicians.
The moment citizens begin to express their anger with extreme force and aggression, you’ll suddenly start treating them with the respect they deserve.
Bastards! I wish everyone of you thieves kpai in a fatal accident
After safely ferrying their children abroad, some unscrupulous politicians are encouraging hapless citizens and thugs to take up weapons to kill one another under the pretext of ‘protecting their votes’. That’s fine.
Let me reiterate what late President Buhari said pre-2019 election (which I supported and I still support): when you resort to self-help and you take up dangerous weapons in the guise of ‘protecting your votes’ and you attack anybody, it is lawful and legitimate for law enforcement agents to ‘neutralise’ you or simple ‘put you down’ in the course of their duty. And the children of the politicians will be watching your foolishness from their safe haven somewhere in the world.
Having been forewarned, you can then go ahead and exercise your options. CHIKENA!!

20 years ago at around 5:30 am, Anambra lawmakers impeached Peter Obi because he refused to inflate the state budget and share public money with politicians. If you are criticizing this man on the internet I want you to sit down and think about that for a moment.
A governor was removed because he refused to spend money recklessly, refused to satisfy political godfathers and refused to turn public funds into a settlement for lawmakers.
They accused him of gross misconduct because he drove a Peugeot 406, bought furniture locally and spent far less than the hundreds of millions approved for renovating the Governor's office and Lodge. They thought they could force him out and end his political journey. They were wrong.
The courts overturned his impeachment, and the Supreme Court later reaffirmed his right to complete his constitutionally guaranteed tenure.
Twenty years have passed, but one thing remains clear, Peter Obi's refusal to share public money with the corrupt political class was enough to make him their sworn enemy.
There are very few politicians in Nigeria like Peter Obi and I strongly believe that God has given us another opportunity to get things right in this country. Nigerians, please, do not take this opportunity for granted.
