How Robinhood is using the SEC’s New Innovation Exemption
with @JohannKerbrat
The wall between TradFi and crypto is coming down.
@TrustlessState sat down with Robinhood’s Crypto GM the morning the SEC dropped its new innovation exemption for tokenized stocks.
What’s happening:
• Tokenized stocks already doing $1.2B+ daily volume
• 70% of that volume happens outside normal market hours
• Equities becoming programmable, composable, and usable in DeFi
• Robinhood Chain traction is exploding
• Next up: voting rights, in-kind redemption, perps, real estate & AI agents
This is the cleanest look yet at how stocks actually go onchain.
NEW EPISODE - How Robinhood is using the SEC's New Innovation Exemption | Johann Kerbrat
@RobinhoodCrypto's @JohannKerbrat joins @TrustlessState to unpack what the new Innovation Exemption could unlock, why stock trading is moving toward 24/7 markets, and how Robinhood is connecting tokenized equities with DeFi, perps, and Ethereum.
His bigger prediction: eventually, there won’t be a “traditional market” and a “blockchain market.”
There’ll just be one market.

Pete Buttigieg on The Diary of a CEO (Steven Bartlett)
“The American Dream Is DEAD. We’re Running Out Of Time To Fix It!”
Former Transportation Secretary and 2020 candidate discusses why the American Dream that once worked for 9 in 10 people now feels like a coin toss. Candid talk on democracy at risk, AI’s impact on jobs and inequality, hard work no longer being enough, Afghanistan lessons, and whether he’s eyeing 2028 without claiming one party has all the answers.
Listen here: fluidcastapp.com/episode/?po…
The American Dream used to work for 9 in 10 Americans.
Today, it is a coin toss.
The gap between those two numbers says a lot about America right now. People are working hard but struggling to afford homes, healthcare and the basic security they were told hard work would provide.
I wanted to understand how the country got here and what would actually need to change.
Secretary Pete Buttigieg is a former US Secretary of Transportation, a Navy veteran who served in Afghanistan and a two-term mayor. He was also the first openly gay candidate to win a US presidential primary.
What I found valuable about Pete is that he does not pretend one political party has all the answers. He spoke honestly about the failures that have built up under both parties and why simply returning America to the way it was before will not solve the problems that created this moment.
We discussed things like:
- Why he believes American democracy is on the brink.
- Whether he is preparing to run for President in 2028.
- Hard work is no longer enough for millions of people.
- How AI could transform jobs, inequality and global security.
- What serving in Afghanistan taught him about sending people into conflict.
- The false anonymous allegation that led to his children being taken from him for 24 hours.
One of the things that sets Pete apart is his willingness to speak to people who completely disagree with him.
By the end, I told Pete that I applaud him for leading the way in having those conversations, because he is so articulate and smart.
You do not have to agree with every answer Pete gives to get something from this discussion, but his experience means he understands how political decisions affect real lives and his willingness to engage with the other side is something politics needs more of.
Christianity & Jesus forged the West’s unique edge:
Individual dignity (imago Dei, free will) powers liberty, innovation & rights - while the moral law of love and the Golden Rule keeps us grounded against pure selfishness.
Result: the free, prosperous, high-trust civilization that still leads the world.
Worth defending.
