TSMC Chairman and CEO C.C. Wei confirmed ongoing talks on Elon Musk’s Terafab during the company’s Q3 2026 earnings call today.
Wei said TSMC has sent teams to Texas to evaluate expansion opportunities and is discussing whether it could use Terafab’s additional chipmaking capacity.
“We are still in discussion,” he said, adding that “the fab has got to be run by TSMC.”
He also said AI chip demand remains extremely strong, with a large gap between demand and supply.
Something about the number of people reportedly slumping and dying suddenly lately is frightening.
