I will not pretend this one is easy. It trips me up too, and the Bible does not tell us to pretend otherwise. "Why do You stand afar off, O LORD? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?" (Psalm 10:1). That is Scripture. God put your exact question in His own book and let it stand there, so you are allowed to ask it. Where is God? The same place He was when His own Son was stripped, beaten, and nailed up by men who thought they were serving God, and heaven stayed silent for three hours. Nobody intervened that day either. And that was not God absent. That was God doing the greatest thing He has ever done, "by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God" (Acts 2:23), through the hands of wicked men who will answer for every blow. He did not stop the evil. He used it, and He will judge it. Both are true at the same time, and if you let go of either one you lose God. Why did He not intervene for this girl? I do not know, and anyone who gives you a neat answer is lying. What I know is what He says. He saw it. "You have seen it, for You have beheld mischief and vexation to take it into Your hand" (Psalm 10:14). Into His hand. Not one minute of those six months was hidden from Him, and not one of them will go unanswered. "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord" (Romans 12:19). That man and that court have an appointment with a Judge who cannot be bribed, and the girl has a Saviour who was Himself abused by religious men and knows exactly what she carries. Why does He appear to some Muslims and not rescue her? Because appearing to a sinner in a dream is MERCY on that sinner, not a reward, and God's not rescuing His child is not a verdict on her. Mary and Martha both said the same thing you are saying, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died" (John 11:21, 32). He had deliberately stayed away two more days. And He wept with them anyway. Delay was not absence. It was a plan they could not see from inside the grief. This is what the church was born into. Stephen was stoned and God did not stop it. James was beheaded and God did not stop it. Hebrews 11 lists people who were "sawn in two" and "put to death with the sword" (Hebrews 11:37) in the same chapter as the people who "shut the mouths of lions." Same God. Same faith. Different outcomes. And every one of them is called someone "of whom the world was not worthy." So do not ask why God is hidden. Ask how long, because that is the question His own martyrs are asking under the altar right now, and He answered them: "a little while longer" (Revelation 6:10-11). Pray for that girl by name. Weep, because Jesus did. And hold on to the God who did not spare His own Son, because that is the only proof you will get in this life that He has not stopped caring.
