In case anyone still thought this was about "graffiti"—UC is clearly misusing their private police to target unions. Last night they searched a member’s home for: “Evidence of membership or affiliation with any university organization […] to include any reference to "UAW"

ALT Search warrant seeking: “Evidence of membership or affiliation with any university organization, paraphernalia to include any reference to "UAW" or "AFSCME" or any drawings, writings, objects, or graffiti depicting names, initials, logos, monikers, slogans, or mention of UAW or AFSCME membership or affiliation, activity, or identity"

Labor Relations @UCSanDiego told workers back in December it was ok to chalk on buildings. On 6/30 the university had 3 workers arrested on felony charges of vandalism. Funny how things change when the boss wants to wriggle out of a union contract.
On 6/30 @UCSanDiego used campus police to arrest three academic workers at their homes on felony charges of vandalism for chalking “Living Wages Now” on a building in a protest a month prior. Now it turns out UCSD had previously told workers it was ok to chalk buildings.

.@UCSanDiego is trying to set a dangerous precedent by charging 59 students with physical assault & disruption for free speech expression. This is an attack on all student and worker groups in higher education. Sign on against this injustice: uc-uaw.jotform.com/231637145…

Crazy stuff afoot here at @ucsandiego! University has charged 67 students (20 of whom were not even there!) with "physical assault & endangerment" of Chancellor Khosla, even though videos clearly show it to be a peaceful protest. This seems like unnecessary escalation.

Researchers watched freshwater resources like lakes and reservoirs fluctuate with the seasons. This is the first time we’ve measured water levels at small reservoirs — some smaller than the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool — on a global scale from space.

ICESat-2 Measures Human Impact in Water Storage
To study human impact on freshwater, scientists have conducted the first global accounting of water levels in Earth’s lakes & reservoirs – including ones previously too small to measure from space.
