Weird history: Wayne White, who designed the amazing sets and puppets for Pee-Wee's Playhouse, first designed the look of a Nashville Public TV kids' music show, Mrs. Cabobble's Caboose. Fran Powell, the show host, was a legend to Nashville kids of a certain generation.
As you can see watching the intro for Mrs. Cabobble's Caboose, the look that would become iconic in Playhouse was already there. The story of Pee-Wee's show hiring the Mrs. Cabobble's Caboose crew was a legend around WNPT, where I worked in master control between 1994 and 1998.
I spotted the style when we were avidly watching Pee-Wee's show in college-when watching it was an event. We made plans and gathered in the largest dorm room for each new Pee-Wee. Paul Reubens's show was instantly iconic for a ton of reasons, not least the character of Pee-Wee, but the look of the Playhouse added that extra chef's kiss of Sid & Marty Krofft-inspired (quite possibly designed while stoned?) weirdness.
Pee-Wee's Playhouse has always been part of a little gem-like collection of good memories from college for me, and I've treasured it-because I didn't have a great time in college. And threadbare as the connecting tissues between Nashville and the show may be, they only added to making it special.
RIP to Pee-wee, who was a genuine one-of-a-kind and who recognized true originality when he saw it. Thanks for the laughs.

Look, if you’re not going to #engagewithempathy when covering true crime cases (especially current ones) just get out of the space. Audiences will be able to point out anyone that’s not genuine right away. Have some sense when it comes to your listening audience’s intelligence.

Senator Blackburn took $1.25 million from the NRA.

Let me re write that for you.
Chuck & I are heartbroken to hear about the shooting at Covenant School in Nashville that was enabled by NRA puppets like me who are willing to let kids be fucking slaughtered so long as the NRA continues giving me millions.

having had family members who lived on the streets of LA
there must be a holistic approach to homelessness
it’s not one thing
it’s all of the things!
imagine yourself living on the street
imagine yourself without resources, family or medication to help

If there are verified sources giving you information, why would you go out of your way to share unverified speculations? These are real cases that require real investigations that affect REAL families. Don’t let your desire to “know” make you lose sight of the ppl involved.

When are people going to listen??? True crime is NOT entertainment! While families are more than grateful for the support, please understand, your update comes at the expense of their ongoing pain. Families are living out these tragedies in REAL time. Please be respectful ❤️❤️

Sending so much love to the brave people coming forward. Behind the scenes of true crime is a scary place. This type of behavior is silently accepted by so many and it has to change. True crime should not and cannot operate like other verticals of entertainment.
Over the years, true-crime star Billy Jensen built a career as a media personality and a brooding crusader for justice.
Now, it all seems to be crashing down. rol.st/3OsvOtE
