We had a really mean python at work and I gave him back to his owner and was like “he was trying to kill me” and his owner said “well, he only has so many ways to interact with the world. All he has is a face” and it Moved Me
I had my phone out at the counter and got a text from my manager who’s off today saying “don’t charge ur phone at the counter,” which means they were watching me from the security cameras while at home. We get along but don’t start being a voyeur to micromanage us please I beg 😭

i think being exposed to and socialized to be able to connect to many different types of people is a great innoculator against becoming a reactionary. it really keeps you in a “well it depends” mindset which i think is the one best equipped to grasp reality

"Horses" (1972) by Palestinian artist Jumana El Husseini (1932 - 2018).
"I am a wild horse. I will not be curbed. / nor tamed by strangers. / You build your wall around me, but your gates cannot hold me. / I am Palestine."
In Palestinian literature and art, horses are profound symbols of nobility, endurance, and deep ancestral connection to the land. They serve as metaphors for resistance, loss, and the unyielding spirit of the people.

Crossing to the Other Shore
They dismounted,
The night was nearing its end,
Dawn was almost breaking.
They carried my dreams,
Saddled them upon the back of a steed.
They stayed awake…
They crossed…
While the people slept.
They slept,
Dreaming of awakening—
Of a fish on the shore of Acre,
Of a child born alongside a flower,
And a finger asleep on the trigger.
They slept, dreaming of awakening—
Of a fish on the shore of Jaffa,
And of hope, sleeping in Gaza.
They stayed awake…
They crossed…
While the people slept.
They brought the sun back to my heights,
With the blood of purity, with my song.
And in the morning, I heard on my radio:
Eight steeds
Had crossed the sea to my land.
The night was nearing its end,
And dawn was almost breaking.
