Israel killed 12X more kids in their 2014 bombing of Gaza than kids died on Oct 7, Israel’s casual bombing in 2021 killed 26 more kids than kids died in Oct 7. I’m curious what allowances the “Israelis were uniquely traumatized by Oct 7” people think this affords Palestinians?

The BBC has never once used the term "atrocity" to describe Israel's massacres in Gaza.
Whenever the BBC has been asked why it sanitises its language, it cites its editorial standards and "due impartiality".
But the BBC has proven that those standards only apply one way.

AI preparing to delete this tweet - and any others criticising Israel - as “antisemitism”.
Exercise the last remnants of free speech before it’s gone for good.
🚨 ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt reveals in Israel that he's been working with all the top AI Frontier Labs to push them to suppress "anti-Semitism."
"We've been working with the Frontier Labs—OpenAI, Anthropic, Alphabet, the company that runs Gemini, Google, Meta, who runs Muse, and others, X, who run Grok—testing their models and using the results to push them to do better."
"We've had excellent collaboration with Silicon Valley."
"We've run the tests and seen where anti-Semitism shows up and helped them develop strategies to tackle it right in the source code."

With her lonely stand for Palestine, Sally Rooney has exposed the contemporary literary world as a nest of cowards and careerists
Where are all the Doris Lessings, Harold Pinters, John Bergers, Graham Greenes, Samuel Becketts that once raised their voices against war and injustice?
Rooney stands almost alone

astonishingly, the UK under a Labour government actually has a worse free speech situation for Palestine activists than the US does under Trump

Many who spread the latest Russian bots hoax were cynical influencers serving their clients

This latest retraction of another “Russian bots” scare is making me nostalgic: 😢
Przeprosiny i sprostowanie.

As we have often noted, the propaganda system does not immediately wage all-out war on leading dissidents. It initially expresses tolerant interest and even cautious support, before claiming that some disastrous, watershed moment has changed everything - then they attack. Here's John Harris in the Guardian:
'For what it’s worth, many of us have long believed that the substantial presence in British politics of a radical party free of Labour’s pussyfooting around the climate crisis and the harsh realities of inequality was an absolute necessity, and the Greens’ fitful growth was nothing but a good thing. Now, by contrast, as the fallout from Polanski’s sudden crash only deepens, they have a massive amount of self-questioning and reinvention to do.' theguardian.com/commentisfre…
Compare and contrast with George Monbiot in 2017:
'I was thrilled when Jeremy Corbyn became leader of the Labour Party, but it has been one fiasco after another. I have now lost all faith.’ xitter.cf/GeorgeMonbiot/status/8…
And:
'I hoped Corbyn would be effective in fighting the government and articulating a positive alternative vision. Neither hope has materialised.’ xitter.cf/GeorgeMonbiot/st…
Especially given how appalling all of the alternatives were, there was no reason whatever to do dump @jeremycorbyn then, just as there is no reason to dump @ZackPolanski now.
Replying to @GeorgeMonbiot
I hoped Corbyn would be effective in fighting the government and articulating a positive alternative vision. Neither hope has materialised.

The media is publishing non-stop bullshit stories trying to cause friction between Polanski, Ali, and others in Green leadership
They did same with Corbyn and McDonnell - and it’s a sign of desperation
You cannot trust a single thing mainstream journalists say about Greens now. They’ve declared war on a vehicle that threatens the entrenched power they serve
Important to remember these people are not journalists; they are paid propagandists working to maintain UK oligarchy

A UK Parliamentary inquiry did a sweeping review of Russia's supposed hand in Brexit and came up with nothing. Unless you want to count RT spending over $1,000 on Twitter ads to promote its Brexit coverage to UK-based viewers. Or Facebook reporting a Russian troll farm spending a grand total of 97 cents spent on three ads, all about immigration and not even mentioning Brexit.
Since 2016, the NATO elite has waged a concerted disinformation campaign to blame Russia for populist rebukes. This comment follows in that tired tradition:
Andy Burnham becomes first PM to confirm Russian interference in Brexit referendum

Crawlers are a normal part of the web. Yandex runs a search engine; of course it generates bot traffic.
Bot traffic from Russia does not automatically mean Russian propaganda bots. Yet people here, including journalists, keep treating the two as interchangeable.
That Cloudflare chart shows automated web requests from Yandex’s network. Where’s the data showing that propaganda accounts stopped posting?
Journalists in particular need to understand this distinction. Precision matters when a misread traffic graph becomes the basis for a political narrative.

Years of propaganda from NATO leaders and pundits -- call them Russiagate bots -- imbue "Russian bots" with the omnipresent, mystical power to decide elections and "sow discord" across Western democracies.
It's a disinformation campaign to manufacture consent for permanent conflict with Russia. By claiming to have cured the internet by bombing Russian data centers, Zelensky is taking this psy-op to a farcical extreme:
When we started responding to Russia’s operation against our data centers, and when our strikes reached Yandex’s data centers, it suddenly became a little easier to breathe on many social media platforms. A lot of people noticed it. There was less hate, less division, and fewer provocations.
Because there were fewer bots. And it’s pretty clear where those bots were coming from – if they disappeared when Yandex went offline. This proves, again and again, that Europe is not the source of the problems. Europe is not the one making everything more difficult.
Most importantly, we need people in America, every morning, when the day in Europe is already moving toward evening, to really see what is happening. To see the truth.

Such an excellent piece from Jonathan Cook.👇
Israel has no right to exist. That’s the position in international law. It has nothing to do with hatred of Israel or antisemitism.
In fact, no state – none – has a “right” to exist, including states busy extolling their democratic credentials.
If the UK had a “right” to exist, for example, it would mean that Scotland could not be allowed to vote for independence. Why? Because such a vote would break up the UK. It would be a violation of the UK’s supposed “right” to exist as the UK.
Which is precisely why the UK has no “right” to exist.
Peoples have a right to exist. When that right is abused, it invariably involves very serious violations of international law – often through crimes such as apartheid, ethnic cleansing or genocide.
States, by contrast, don’t have a “right” to exist. They simply do exist as a matter of fact – until they suddenly don’t. Like apartheid South Africa. Like Rhodesia. Like Czechoslovakia. Like Yugoslavia. Like Nazi Germany.
This is so obvious it should not even need stating.
Were states to have a “right” to exist, completely arbitrary factors such as their borders, demographic make-up and political institutions would be sacrosanct. Inviolable. It would be impossible for minorities to secede, for territories to be transferred, for apartheid structures to be overturned . Any such change would be a transgression of the state’s “right to exist” as it is.
And yet every single journalist employed by an establishment media outlet is suddenly playing dumb on this most elementary of issues. They’ve all suddenly had a collective lobotomy. They insist Israel must be the exception to the rule that no state has a “right” to exist.
Watch, for example, the BBC’s Nick Robinson berating Green party leader Zack Polanski for refusing to affirm Israel’s “right to exist”. Polanksi correctly argues instead that Israelis and Palestinians have a right to live in equality.
Why all this incendiary stupidity from our supposedly brightest and best journalists?
Find the answer in my latest article No state has a ‘right’ to exist – least of all an apartheid, genocidal state like Israel. A link to the full article is in the reply post ⬇️
