The Motor and NVH team kept on it and made a major reduction in structure-borne noise through a bushing diameter and dynamic stiffness change that reduced motor prominence by up to 12 dB

Basic science research, which seeks objective truths in the natural world, is mostly invisible to the public. To many it's obscure & irrelevant. Yet it's the engine room of tech-innovation, itself the foundation of our health, wealth, and security. Cut funds for science & you ultimately leave us sick, poor, and unsafe. Feed that engine room and the heights of American greatness will know no bounds.
Looks like a bipartisan Congress has just figured that out, even if the White House has not.

I had the opportunity to spend a week with the Tesla Cybertruck as my daily driver...
I almost didn't write this because there's just so much Tesla hate out there online and I've never been the guy to write
Let me start by saying this was easily the most fun I've ever had with any vehicle in my life and it's not even close.
My dad even drove up from 3 hours away to try it out, because it's just that fun.
I've owned a Model 3 and now a brand-new Model Y, ridden inside many Model S and Model X cars... and I can say with confidence this is absolutely the BEST car Tesla has ever made by a MILE.
Nothing in Tesla's lineup even compares to it.
But...
I've got to say, I wasn't expecting the sheer volume of anger and hate I got from driving this thing.
I live in a small town outside of a liberal-leaning blue city... I've never been honked at, yelled at, flipped off, or booed EVER while living here.
Not one time.
But ALL of those things occurred this week.
It was really surprising.
I was expecting it to happen maybe once or twice, but not super often... I was wrong.
Every time I've seen a Cybertruck, I get excited.
I think they are super cool and I've never cared if anyone disagreed with me on the design...
I think the future should look like the future and this truck looks like something from a sci-fi movie and I've always been a fan.
One of the most interesting interactions occurred when I took my 5-year-old to the dentist.
We were walking out of the dentist's office and a kid, a little bit older than him was just pointing and smiling at the Cybertruck. He was so into it.
The kid's mom just rolled her eyes.
and ya'll... that just sucks
Because I feel like that is the story of this truck in a nutshell.
Children can see magic... because they look for it.

📣Back from AWS re:Invent - one of the most interesting talks was from Stephen Goodman and Eric Brandwine @ebrandwine . In short, AWS uses honeypot tech at scale in their dark/unused IP space to identify and then stop adversaries from targeting customers on AWS.
One point that stood out to me is that close to 30% of the intel they gather with this system turns over after 2-3 minutes - this is also my personal experience, and is what we continue to see with the value of threat intelligence in production environments - if you are using a feed of traditional threat intel, it's likely not providing significant value. 💎
This is why I believe that identity is the future - it's the only way to give defenders a strategic advantage against the adversary. 🥷
Once posted, I highly recommend watching the talk "How AWS scales active defense". Excited to see AWS talking in depth about security at scale!

Heading into the fourth winter with a Tesla and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I still get people to who say it must be bad in the snow, hard to charge, etc.
They heat up faster than any ice and I always feel extra safe driving it. And it’s another level of ease when FSD drives me.
I don't have to go out of my way to pump gas in sub-zero temps, I just drive home and plug in.
Honesty, driving something other than a Tesla is a huge pain in the derriere and not nearly as easy and fun.
