First Unitarian is “LA’s most unconventional church…Without a minister, the church is run like a cosmic kibbutz—with a carousel of guest speakers. And it’s working. The church...plays an outsize role in progressive politics and culture.” lamag.com/citythinkblog/firs…

This anti-choice decision by the Supreme Court infringes on our deeply held religious beliefs. Access to abortion and the right to choose is an issue of gender equality, bodily autonomy, and religious liberty, all of which are long held Unitarian Universalist religious teachings.

“You shall not use God’s name in vain” is not about cursing.
It’s for blasphemy like using prayer to hide why you won’t pass laws to stop kids dying.

The stain of white supremacy has been part of American society since before we were a nation. We must all find the moral courage to speak out against white nationalist rhetoric that fuels ongoing violence and hate crimes. bit.ly/3Lsmvse #Buffalo #BlackLivesMatter

Our faith insists that any system that works to erode full humanity is unjust and harmful, and must be dismantled. UUism urges us to dedicate our hearts and our life forces toward dismantling white supremacy and creating a world in which every person has the ability to live free.

As we process this verdict against Kyle Rittenhouse, a young white man who murdered two pro-BLM protesters, we are coming together — on social media and in person, in action, and in prayer — to call for healing, justice, well-being, and true community safety for all in Wisconsin.

These recent days are filled with so many reminders of the depth of disregard for the preciousness of human life that pervade our culture. And how strongly the system is built to protect and reinforce this deadly systemic racism and white supremacy. #Kenosha
