As wildfire reshapes our landscapes, understanding its effects on drinking water is essential. Proud to see UBC Okanagan researchers working with Kimberley and its partners on an approach that could serve communities across BC and beyond.

The best (only?) way to stop a high intensity fire is to take the fuel away. That’s where recent fire history on a landscape creates safety and why we need more prescribed fire on the ground near where people live.

Today, on the National Day for #TruthandReconciliation, we honour the strength and resilience of residential school survivors, and we remember the children who never returned home.
Today is a day for reflection, but it is also a day of responsibility. True reconciliation is a call to learn the truths of this country, to acknowledge the intergenerational impacts that continue today, and to respect and uphold the strength of Indigenous Nations in caring for our lands, languages, and Peoples. 🪶 On this National Day, we should all commit to reconciliation rooted in the truth, and most importantly, the love for generations to come. 🧡

Andrew Coyne: "It's not a trade negotiation, because it's about a lot more than trade, and because there's not a whole lot to negotiate. The aims and ambitions of the president vary from week to week. But they have a broad outline of essentially suppressing this country's national independence and sovereignty."

In the tradition of Nazi Germanization, Fascist Italianization, colonial oppression...always on the right side of history. What's new is the mob-style shakedown- cheaper than invasion and occupation.
