Ken Russell's The Devils is a stone cold masterpiece. I am so glad the uncut version has seen the light of day. It may just be the best film I ever see.

Absurd, depraved, blasphemous, unhinged, obscene. There are a plethora of negative adjectives I can use to describe Ken Russell's The Devils, but I mean them all in the best possible way. This film…

Review of ‘Wildwood’ (2026) ★★★★★

A bold and beautiful rebellion against the current way of the world. Creativity versus cutting corners, nature versus civilisation. Enjoy handmade art, before it's gone for good. An ode to fantasy…

Despite the usually superficial nature of school, Carrie offers so many layers. Religious fanaticism and sexual repression meets the tribalism of those tough teenage years. It all bubbles away under…

There's very little wrong with #Clayface, other than that they didn't push the R-rating as far as they could have and Gotham feels a little flat. The film is great.

wordspit.substack.com/p/clay… I've dropped a new piece over on my substack about Clayface, the latest cinematic release from DC. Semi-review, semi-commentary, but full of mostly praise for the film. No spoilers, if you care about that. #Clayface #film #dcu

If (when, surely...) Ozzy becomes Sir Ozzy Osbourne, does he turn from The Prince of Darkness into The Dark Knight?

Weston McKennie's link to #AVFC hasn't filled fans with confidence, but a deal seems like smart business, turning an unfavourable situation into a lucrative one. McKennie is a player Emery can improve - and a highly marketable asset as the club look to improve revenue streams.

Barkley's rumoured return to #AVFC would be a low-risk, shrewd piece of business akin to Tielemans last summer. The talent is clearly there and the midfielder seems to have matured into a new role as a player and leader - perfect for the next campaign. underagaslitlamp.com/2024/05…
