Something v. strange in the French publishing mafia: Oliver Nora, head of the publishing house Grasset was making 1.1M Euros in 2025 on 12 M IN TOTAL REVENUE, not counting another 1M expense alloc. Grasset isn't a startup, but the 2nd most established publisher. That caste controls French publishing.

Where we see evidence that mathematicians are more interested in the welfare of mathematicians than the improvement of scientific knowledge.
NYU math professor Tristan Buckmaster says OpenAI’s Tuesday drop of 722 AI-generated math papers wiped out entire research programs: “This recent dump of papers on Tuesday destroyed the careers of early career mathematicians.”

We really have to start treating socialists like economic flat earthers. They operate at the same level of sophistication, can't understand basic concepts provable w/evidence etc. I don't understand why they're part of the adult discourse (no one at NASA thinks space is fake)

The math establishment is desperate to keep its role as gatekeeper.
This is a slide from Terence Tao's 'Math 2.0' public lecture yesterday evening at Caltech. I am highly confident that, if the cure actually worked, almost any Stage 4 cancer patient would tell you that human comprehension of its mechanism is completely irrelevant to them.

So if I understand this correctly, Russia will keep supplying intelligence to Iran and its proxies while the US is threatening to withhold intelligence from what many consider to be an ally ... no wonder Putin didn't want to get off the phone while making a deal with Trump ...

Are you sitting down? Ivy League Universities… Combined endowments of $206 Billion. Receive $6.4 Billion taxpayer dollars per year. Faculties make 98% of political donations to Dems. Taxpaying Americans pay for wealthy Communists to indoctrinate the youth. A major problem.

If you diagnose a medical problem, then you need to spend money on it. An individual who values their health will do so. A government that pays for both diagnosis and care is incentivized not to do either. That is the main problem with government supplied health.

Elon nailed the double standard. If we shipped 100,000 Americans to Greenland, elected an American prime minister, and voted the place into the U.S., the left would lose their minds. Do that to Europe through mass immigration and they call it progress. Same playbook here. Import the votes. Change the country. Then act shocked when the natives notice. Europe is the warning. November is the off-ramp. Vote Republican. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

When Spain and Brazil socialist leaders are facing election issues and a possible end of their career simultaneously, I call it a beautiful, beautiful day! Socialism sucks, kids. Everyone, who lives in socialism, will vote against it, if they‘re still allowed to vote, of course.

The future light cone of discoveries rounds up to 100% engineering, as the set of physics rules that govern our reality is very tiny compared to what can be done with those rules. The reason I didn’t choose a career in physics, my favorite subject, is that I would be stuck waiting for a new collider or telescope. Better to advance technologies that ultimately enable discovery of new physics.

Nearly thirty years as a published writer and this is the first time I’ve used a new device that became instantly irreplaceable (no, I’m not being paid to say this.) It feels like using ink and paper and does everything I want it to do and nothing I don’t need it to do. I know I’m late to the party, but my son gave it to me on my birthday so to me it’s a very recent revelation. It’s already joined my laptop at the top of my Things I Dread Losing list. #supernote

Not one single person of average intelligence or above, is arguing in good faith that men can become women, should be allowed in women’s sports, be imprisoned with women, or be allowed in woman’s shelters. If you’re smart and hold those positions, truth is not your top priority.
