It's an excellent time for both sides of the divide in America to admit their candidate and the selection process is at least somewhat flawed. It's incredible how many folks refuse to do that. Self awareness does not hurt yo!

There is a bit of uncertainty in the numbers, but it looks the projections for GDP growth are actually worse for UK than for Russia in 2024 and 2023. Sanctions much....

I wonder if vision pro launching only in the US (for a while!) is some form of protectionism. US-based companies have a massive head-start over everyone else in the world. Is that something EU would be interested in?

Chargebee has been increasingly hostile towards users and I'm thinking about a way out. What are good alternatives?

In a classic silicon valley fashion, sentry is getting increasingly expensive, justifying it by features I don't need or want. Eh, why everyone must follow this cycle? Get a good pricing out, then add features, then multiply the pricing.

That said, I can probably just migrate to my own sentry instance.

VR Sketch is hiring. Low pay, hard work, a lot of artistic freedom. We have no funding, we are not taking over the world. DM me if that sounds great

Frankly, half (or more) of the problem with VR is incredibly shoddy software that operates it (SteamVR/Oculus/OpenXR, there are no good ones) that make it seemingly platform-independent while being tied to specific hardware in non-trivial ways

If we want anyone to do unbiased science, it's possible, but we must ensure that their career, respect, life does not depend on the answers they're looking for.

When you learn about a system, it really helps to see how and when it breaks. What stops working and how. Is there anything like that in education?

My favorite use for ChatGPT is for the knowledge that's in between wikipedia and a scientific paper. Normally it would be covered by university coursework, but those are not available publicaly for some of the disciplines. It's a copyright arbitrage more than a knowledge gap.

From my quick calculations, it seems that FB metaverse costed so far more than US military aid to ukraine by about 30%. #priorities

The best way to make sure no one reads an important message from you is to drown them in unimportant ones.

I present to you, some images that Midjourney created from some scientific paper titles. I think maybe this should be required with every paper submission to a journal. Let's see some of your favorites!

I want to experiment with visualizing data in virtual reality. Took me 3 days to negotiate with a famous scientist to share their data. That was over 2 months ago, still fighting with NDA for the university. Is all academia taken over by bureacracy by now or is there some left?
