— “And Darkseid has never depended upon followers. They depended upon me.” Without another word, he walked into the darkness of his palace, leaving behind the greatest army in creation, abandoned by the only being worthy of being their master.

|Need to catch up on the manga, then after work I'll work on replying to Mahito-mun more. A good start to my return.

⠀⠀⠀ Do you recall how much I used to despise you? Yet, even in the midst of significant moments, Juvia always pauses to cherish the memories we’ve built. You were officially one of my very first friends. Happy Birthday, @dollisim.~ ⠀ ⠀⠀

From naught he seems to spawn, magick-infused limb shifting to an iron blade, rejecting the attempt to blindside his guildmate. He notes the foreign pressure on contact, but thankfully his mana apears to reject it. "Ya got some nerve, pal. I take it yer ready t'die?"

i can't be soft. i can't let my guard down. i can't be vulnerable, because they'll all learn who i really am. i don't want them to know how weak and pathetic i truly am. fragility is a curse.

Per his usual come-and-go, he leaves a gift at @dollisim 's door, his own presence gone before found. It's not like the Guild-key he had made for her last year. It is a simple making of the guild symbol itself, its surface engraved with the words: Happy Birthday Lucy. →

From afar he watches, out of sight, satisfied only when she takes the gift inside. Perhaps when he is finally ready to return, he can present a gift in not so secretive a manner. Perhaps then he can be truly forgiven for his absence.
