The crazy thing about Docker trying to monetize Docker Desktop is that they waited this long! Paying for tools that make developers more efficient (and consequently happier) at their jobs is an absolute no brainer to me.

Massive congratulations @GrantM and @marccampbell! 🎉🍾 Super well-deserved.
Big news from @replicatedhq! We've raised $25m to enable Kubernetes-based apps to become "modern on-prem" software: replicated.com/blog/25m-seri…. Super proud of the team for what we've accomplished and where we're going!

Talent is everywhere, opportunity is not. With the coronavirus forcing everyone to work from home, and now the US banning highly skilled immigrants, there has never been a better time for tech companies to decentralize their workforce and hire remote
Breaking News: President Trump will sign an executive order suspending foreign work visas, barring hundreds of thousands of people from coming to work in the U.S. The move includes the H-1B program for high-skilled workers and several other categories. nyti.ms/3hRwUQI

If the EU is smart, they should be taking advantage of the situation and making it extremely easy for companies to invest and open offices here. One can only hope.

🔮for @apple: a serverless backend service for iOS/macOS developers (part of iCloud?), so small apps don't have to resort to use a traditional cloud provider. Like a native Apple-run @firebase.

📣 Announcing ctr.run! It allows you to "docker pull" your git repos, building them on demand, with automatic caching. docker run -it ctr.run/github.com/docker/do… Just prepend "ctr.run/" to the git repo URL, and you are set! medium.com/scopedev/announci…

Personally I have always wanted to build a service like it so I'm very excited that we are finally releasing ctr.run! We use it at @undefinedlabs for deploying development versions of services without having to pre-build them on CI on every git push. Check it out!
