Congratulations to @fernandolotten on the renewal of his mandate as @OAS_official Special Advisor on Antisemitism.
ADL was proud to lead a coalition of Jewish organizations that advocated for this renewal, which is a critical signal of the OAS’s continued commitment to confronting antisemitism and protecting Jewish communities across the Americas.

🚨 BREAKING: Keir Starmer's full address to the nation over the Golders Green terror attack
"If you stand alongside people who say Globalize the Intifada, you are calling for terrorism against Jews"
"I call on everyone decent in this country to open their eyes to Jewish pain"

We strongly condemn the scenes in Milan, where descendants of the Jewish Brigade and members of the Jewish community were forced to leave the Liberation Day march under police protection after being surrounded by demonstrators shouting antisemitic slogans.
This incident is particularly concerning given the historical role of the Jewish Brigade, whose members fought against Nazism in Italy.
The intimidation and exclusion of Jewish participants from a commemoration of liberation represent a profound distortion of history and a serious manifestation of contemporary antisemitism.
Such behaviour is unacceptable. Targeting Jewish individuals in a public commemoration undermines the very values of remembrance, democracy and coexistence that this day is meant to uphold.

In his intervention, he stressed that combating antisemitism is a democratic obligation that involves states, education systems, judicial institutions, and political leadership, and requires public policies, legal frameworks, and clear conceptual tools.

Intervention of @fernandolotten, @OAS_official Special Advisor on Anti-Semitism, at the #OAS Permanent Council @CP_OEA in commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Fernando Lottenberg retweeted
Today at the Permanent Council, we commemorated the victims of the Holocaust. This remembrance must be more than a solemn act—it must be a call to vigilance and to action. The Holocaust began with words, with indifference, and with the erosion of democratic institutions. That history obliges us to remain alert to the warning signs of intolerance and hatred wherever they emerge.
At the OAS, this responsibility guides our work: from the appointment of a Special Advisor on Anti-Semitism to our broader efforts to strengthen democracy, promote civic education, defend human rights, and combat all forms of discrimination across the hemisphere. Memory itself is a form of prevention.
We must confront intolerance in our schools, our institutions, our political discourse, and our public spaces—and act collectively to ensure that genocide, persecution, and hatred, based on any ethnicity, race, or religion, find no space in the Americas. Not today. Not ever.

We condemn in the strongest terms the attack that claimed the lives of Israeli diplomats Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim in Washington, D.C.
We extend our deepest condolences to their families, the Government of Israel, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We stand in solidarity during this time of mourning.
The rise of antisemitism around the world is a grave concern. These killings underscore the urgent need for collective action to combat hatred in all its forms. We must
confront antisemitism wherever it arises.
We are shocked and horrified this morning by the news of the brutal terrorist attack that claimed the lives of two of our Embassy staff members in Washington — Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim.
May their memory be a blessing.
We embrace the grieving families during this painful time and will continue to support them always.
Israeli diplomats and representatives around the world stand on the frontlines of Israel’s diplomatic efforts — defending the country with their very lives.
We will not be deterred by terror. We will continue our mission across the globe, with unwavering commitment to represent Israel with pride.
