Just finished seeing @rabovitz’s remarks @magicleap #LEAPcon. My brain is currently experiencing a 404 server error about the possibilities for the #MagicVerse in #Education #HigherEd #SpatialComputing
This is both fascinating and nerve wracking. @mfroomkin and @ma_franks you each may be interested in this. Here’s a few topics of interest to me: 1. Social construction of Mica’s identity; 2. Even as a POC, this shows the potential for #deepfakes in XR; 3. Human-avatar relations
Meet Mica. A human-centered AI with eye-gaze tracking and more to make characteristics more humanlike. An ongoing project by an internal #magicleap team who wanted to push systems and explore digital human representations. #LEAPcon

Great job @sannabh, @timstutts, @jamespowderly and the rest of the @magicleap team on the thoughtful #design and attention to representation and diversity in the MagicLeap avatars and assets. Especially impressed with, and grateful for, the inclusion of Muslim characters/motifs.
An important/timely point on #privacy and #security by @magicleap @ #LEAPcon. Especially relevant given recent @facebook breach, @google data vuln, and today's @SenateCommerce's hearing Consumer Data #Privacy: Lessons from #GDPR and #CCPA. #respecttheuser
GO @sannabh!!!! Awesome @magicleap #LEAPcon announcement to turn @univmiami (my alma mater) into the first academic campus connected to the #Magicverse! So looking forward to this. The future is here.

Today was a powerful example of how #communities can work on tackling complex problems together— the participation @MiamiDadePD Officers alongside social justice activists, innovators & students pointed to the shared sense of ownership of building our #Miami.

I never heard back from MIT. I got rejected from CMU. I was accepted to U of T but not to work with the PI I wanted there. I got "honorable mention" for NSF GRFP but not actual money. Don't let temporary failures discourage you. xitter.cf/mrtz/status/9504934338…
