Deepstash launched 2,483 new ads in 7 days
I watched 15 of the newest. 8 of them star the same cartoon wolf
Here's why they work:
1. It starts with a question you can't answer
A goat: "I know how pretty much everything works"
The wolf: "Then tell me how your zipper works"
The goat: "Easy. The little teeth, just they, uh..."
You try to answer it in your head, and you can't either. So you keep watching to find out
2. "Watch this"
At second 11 the wolf says "Watch this". Now you want to see what happens next
3. Small details that make you believe it
- "In 2002, two Yale psychologists": a year and a famous school, so it sounds true
- "Almost nobody can": you're about to know something most people don't
- "the illusion of explanatory depth": a fancy name you can repeat at dinner
You walk away feeling smarter. And the app promises more of that feeling
4. You want to be the wolf
The goat asks "So how do you actually know this stuff?" and the wolf says "Deepstash. Five minutes a day"
Then the goat says "I don't have time to read". The wolf: "Neither do I"
5. They never show the app
It ends with a joke and the name, nothing else
In all 8 it's the same wolf. Only the other animal and the lesson change:
- a dog finds out why a smaller bonus makes him furious
- a bulldog gets caught using the strawman trick
- a raccoon learns to spot a fake deadline
And 7 of the 8 end with the exact same line: "Okay, what was it called again?" "Deepstash"

They send you to a quiz on their website instead
I took the quiz. Here's their whole funnel:
1. The first screen
- "Replace doomscrolling with microlearning"
- a cartoon in bed at 2AM: "I'm tired… of doomscrolling"
- "TikTok vibes but for smart people." and one button
Same pitch as the ad, so you know you're in the right place
2. 33 screens before they ask for anything
- your age ("The effects of doomscrolling can vary by age")
- "Do you always have a clear idea of what you want?" from 1 to 5
- "I tend to doubt myself and my skills if I make a mistake"
- introvert or extrovert
Each screen is 1 tap and the first ones are easy. By screen 33 you've put in too much to leave
3. Every answer gets a reply
- introvert: "Shoutout to the introvert squad!"
- extrovert: "Cheers to the extrovert squad!"
- doubt yourself: "If you don't make mistakes, you don't make anything"
Each one ends with "your growth plan will target this". So every problem you admit becomes something they promise to fix
4. The book questions
- yes or no on Atomic Habits, Deep Work, The Psychology of Money
- then Tim Ferriss, Simon Sinek and Adam Grant's podcast
You say yes to stuff you already like, so the app feels made for you
5. The loading screen
- "We are crafting your personalized growth plan..."
- a bar goes to 100%
- reviews scroll under it: "It's the perfect replacement for scrolling social media"
A plan that shows up instantly feels cheap. One you waited for feels like real work
6. Only then: your email
"Enter your email to create your personal account and track your progress"
On screen 1 you'd close the tab. On screen 33 you want to see your plan, so you type it in. And if you don't buy, they still have your email
7. "Your personal growth plan is ready"
- a chart from today to November 17 that ends at "15 books per month"
- then "Become the most interesting person in the room"
You see the new you before you see a price
8. The paywall
- "Your promo code applied!": premium_Oct_17. That's today's date
- a 10 minute timer
- 3 plans, the middle one already picked: "MOST POPULAR", "SAVE 60%"
- the price per day: €0.21, with a giant 0
- the card form is on the same page, no extra click
21 cents a day sounds like nothing. The real price is €19.98 for 3 months, and the small text says it then renews at €49.95
I waited for the timer to hit 00:00
Nothing changed. Same prices, same "SAVE 60%"

Wispr Flow has a different angle for every buyer
Deepstash does the exact opposite
9,662 ads live and almost all of them sell one idea: "the TikTok alternative for smart people"
The only thing they change is the first couple of seconds:
- "My boss who works at Google installed this on my phone"
- "I could KISS the Wall Street guy who told me about this..."
- "me: idk how bro knows everything / also what he scrolls:"
Then the same 13 seconds of the app
Their oldest ads have been running for 170 days

This Wispr Flow ad has been running for 118 days straight
It's a really good ad. Here's why it works:
1. It starts with death
"You don't have much time left"
Then the caption says: "I mean that literally" ⏳
It feels like it's about you, so you stop scrolling
2. You find your own age
He shows a chart of a 90-year life in months
Then he covers the years that are gone in red: at 18, at 30, at 45
You see your own age on the chart
3. Your past disappears
The months you already lived get wiped off the chart
Then he circles what's left in green
Losing something hurts more than getting something, so you feel the loss first
4. Then he blames the keyboard
"You're spending 40 hours every week typing on keyboards"
He draws an arrow from your months left to "40hrs"
Now you have something to blame: the keyboard
5. The fix is easy
The problem is big: your life
The fix is small: talk instead of type, for free
If the fix was hard, you'd just scroll away
6. It doesn't feel like an ad
You never see the app
He only says "Wispr Flow" once, at 25 seconds
It looks like a lesson on a whiteboard, so you keep watching
7. It ends happy
"Spend these months doing what you actually love"
Scared at the start, relieved at the end, all in 43 seconds
A true emotional rollercoaster
Wispr Flow has 5,366 ads in their library
I opened every landing page they send people to. Here's the whole funnel:
1. Most ads go to the homepage
3,831 of the 5,366 link to wisprflow.ai
One headline, "Don't type, just speak." and one button
On a phone the button says "Get started on iPhone". On a Mac it says "Get started on macOS".
You never see a button for the wrong device
2. One template, a new headline for every buyer
- Developers: "Dictation built for developers"
- Sales: "Your voice sells better than scripts"
- Students: "For late nights and big ideas."
- India: the home headline, with "Flow for India" above it
They keep the same layout. Only the headline, the examples and the quotes change
The dev page's dictionary shows Supabase and camelCase.
The sales one shows 6sense and RevOps.
The India page says it works "in Hindi, English or Hinglish" and has a live counter: "24,439 signed up in India this week"
3. The influencer links
wisprflow.ai/ali is the homepage with one change: a banner with Ali Abdaal's code and a "Claim Free Month 🎁" button
wisprflow.ai/steven gets a full page with Steven Bartlett's name on top and his own quote above the button
So one homepage serves every influencer, only the banner changes
3. The influencer links
Ali Abdaal runs ads from his own page, marked "Paid partnership with wisprflow".
They link to wisprflow.ai/ali: the homepage plus a banner with his free month. His copy also says "Comment FLOW" for the link, so the ad pulls comments too
Steven Bartlett stars in ads on Wispr's own page. They link to wisprflow.ai/steven, a full page with his name and his quote above the button
4. The Granola page
"Paid for Granola? Your meetings are on us."
- they cover the rest of your paid Granola time in Wispr credit
- plus up to 3 bonus months, 12 months max
- a table where Wispr wins every row against Granola
- the only ask is your email, no card
My favorite page of the bunch. It names the competitor and removes the money reason to stay
5. The page that isn't about the product
comeflowwithme.wisprflow.ai: Wispr is sending a guy across Europe in a 50-year-old VW van
10 countries, one mission per country, and viewers vote on the next one. 45 ads point there and there's no download button at the top
A very interesting and creative experiment!
6. The two sales pages
The main site has a sales page: "Your voice sells better than scripts"
But their sales image ads skip it and go to try.wisprflow.ai/lp/download…:
- no menu, one button: "Download Flow free"
- an empty Salesforce record next to a full one, "dictated in 28 seconds"
- "71% of your week is admin"
- "85% zero-edit rate" and "270+ Fortune 500 companies"
Those are the oldest live ads I found, running since June 19. Their typical ad lasts 13 days
I think we need another reset to deal with all this drama
We discovered a sophisticated recording device that was hidden inside one of our offices. We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier. We referred the matter to the FBI, and we’re grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing and we will continue to support their work.
At this time, we have no indications of this individual inappropriately accessing or exfiltrating model weights, source code, or customer data. The employee was terminated.
We take protecting our technology, data, and people seriously, and as a matter of national importance. Our security program is designed to protect against a wide range of threat actors, from insider risks to cybercriminals to nation states, and this case is an example of how AI can help address these sophisticated security threats.

Wispr Flow has 1,624 ads live and they barely repeat themselves
Meta cuts reach on ads that look too similar, so every ad needs a new angle:
- "Can Wispr Flow understand my broken Spanish?"
- "Signs you are BEHIND when it comes to using AI"
Same app, totally different people
