Yes @EmanAbio left the Sui Trenches out to dry. Stick with me here for a minute - this isn't a tweet to bash him or Sui. He replied to a few tweets, and even acted like he cared when we left @WalrusProtocol - and asked us to DM him so he could publicly show that care, then ignored the DM. We get it, he's busy and has bigger fish to fry. We flew to Singapore to see if it was genuine. It wasn't - there was zero representation for the trenches at basecamp, not a single booth from grassroots builders not funded by the chain. Now that we've said that... this isn't to criticize @EmanAbio or @SuiNetwork. Why do we feel entitled to their direct support? Why does @EmanAbio have to buy every meme as if that somehow is the mark of success? It shouldn't be that way. They create the foundation we build on. That is their job. That should be the only expectation we have. Can they do a few things better? Certainly. For one, you shouldn't need to chase dozens of different "verifications" across different wallets, DEXs, indexers, etc when you launch a project. The protocol could streamline this. This gatekeeping especially matters when it's a Sui product like Slush Wallet and there's no clear path to recognition. We should focus on how Sui & @EmanAbio can help provide the Sui Trenches a fair playing field, and an opportunity to build from a strong base. This is more important than asking him to reply to a tweet or buy a meme. Should @SuiNetwork @SuiCommunity @EmanAbio more actively engage with builders outside of @Mysten_Labs? Sure, I think so - likes and retweets are 100% free, and they should hand them out like candy on Halloween. But this isn't what really matters. The deal is this - they build the foundation and provide a level & permissionless playing field for us to build on. The rest is up to us. That's the expectation, no more, no less.
