ALT The FEERS Energy Efficiency Dialogue Series 2026 has been designed as more than a single conversation. Across four engagements, we are creating a journey that looks at energy efficiency from different but interconnected perspectives. We begin with research and evidence, examining Botswana's energy-efficiency landscape and the realities that should inform our decisions. From there, we turn to innovation and engineering, exploring the role of locally developed solutions in addressing energy challenges. The conversation then moves beyond technical spaces and into our communities, where everyday energy choices matter just as much. The series will ultimately culminate in the FEERS National Showcase and Dialogue, bringing these conversations together while demonstrating the homegrown solution at the centre of our work.

ALT MEET OUR SERIES IV PANELIST 📌 Some voices help shape a conversation from its beginning, and we are proud to welcome back Ms. Bonolo Segale, a shrewd Climate Policy Specialist and Development Policy Specialist & Researcher, to the FEERS Energy Efficiency Dialogue Series IV. Bonolo has been part of our journey across Series I, Series II and now Series IV, contributing valuable perspectives to the conversations we are building around Botswana’s energy future. In Series II, she also delivered a presentation on the Just Energy Transition, bringing an important policy perspective to the discussion. We appreciate her continued engagement and willingness to contribute across these dialogues. Having voices that carry the conversation forward across different stages makes these engagements even more meaningful. As we conclude the series under the theme “Accelerating Botswana’s Energy Transition,” Bonolo will once again join fellow panelists to explore the ideas, policies and collaborations nee

Her expertise in energy engineering and energy efficiency will contribute to an important discussion on how Botswana can translate energy-transition ambitions into practical solutions. 📅 Friday, 16 October 2026 📍 University of Botswana, Building 248 (FET), Room 003 🕘 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM #FEERSEnergy #EnergyEfficiency #Botswana #EnergyTransition #SDG7 #Innovation #SustainableDevelopment #FEERS #SDG13 #SDG9 #SDG12 #SDG11 #Netzero

ALT We are honoured to welcome Mme. Kgosi Mosadi Seboko, Paramount Chief of the Balete Tribe, as the keynote speaker for the third FEERS Energy Efficiency Dialogue. Under the theme “Why Every Community Has a Role in Energy Conservation,” Kgosi Mosadi Seboko will open the conversation by reflecting on the responsibility and role of communities in conserving electricity and building more responsible energy-use practices. As FEERS takes the conversation into the community, her participation brings an important leadership perspective to a conversation that concerns all of us. 📍 Ramotswa Customary Court, Ramotswa, Gamalete 📅 Thursday, 15 October 2026 ⏰ 09:00 AM #FEERSEnergy #EnergyEfficiency #Botswana #EnergyTransition #SDG7 #Innovation #SustainableDevelopment #FEERS #SDG13 #SDG9 #SDG12 #SDG11 #Netzero

ALT Series II Dialogue Panel Discussion Takeaways 📌 Every Idea Has Value, but Can It Reach the Market? How can young innovators protect their ideas while developing commercially viable solutions? Letlhogonolo Godsave Moremi, Intellectual Property Rights Attorney and Founder of ParkGrey IP, addressed this question during our Series II panel discussion. He reminded students that ideas of different sizes can hold value and that intellectual property plays an important role in rewarding and protecting innovation. However, he emphasised that innovators must also consider whether their proposed solutions address problems for which there is an identifiable market.Explaining the different layers of intellectual property protection, Moremi discussed the roles of non-disclosure agreements, contracts, patents and utility models. He encouraged innovators to understand which forms of protection are appropriate for their work and how to share sufficient information with potential collaborators o

ALT The Series II Dialogue - Keynote Speech Takeaways 📌 "Innovation Begins With a Problem You Cannot Ignore" - Lesego Montsho At the second FEERS Energy Efficiency Dialogue, our Founder and Project Lead, Lesego Montsho, opened her keynote with a challenge for attendants; that if you had limited resources, a small team and just 12 months, what problem would you solve in Botswana’s energy sector? Participants exchanged ideas with their neighbors before Ndulamo Jefrey and Kgotso Nelson shared their proposed solutions with the audience. Through this exercise, Lesego demonstrated that innovation does not always begin with sophisticated technology in a laboratory. Sometimes, it begins with noticing a problem that everyone else has become accustomed to. She shared how observing electricity waste at the University of Botswana inspired FEERS and how that observation developed through research, prototyping, intellectual property protection and pilot implementation.
