this reminds me of a gradient tutorial saying that you should avoid crossing colors through the center of the RGB cube becuz that's where the grayscale is which makes your gradient "muddy", so you add a 3rd color on the outside
it blew my mind (but didn't help me cuz I'm a bum)

最近ネームの描き方を検索してるんだけど、確かにこれが正解に近いと思う。
とにかくネームを切る。１日５０ページ切る。台詞が思いつかないなら意味不明なことを言わせる。
意味不明なこと言わせても切る。切って終わらせる。１日５０ページ分、ネーム終わらせる。
その後にBOICHI先生のお薦め演出本を読む。めちゃめちゃ分かるようになってる。またネーム切る。
人に見せようと思うな。思えば手が止まる。手を止めるな。ただ描け。ネーム描け。１日５０ページ描け。
正しい……正しいが、無理だ。
そんなのできるのBOICHI先生だけだよ……。

만화뇌는 극단적으로 2가지 패턴이 있다는데•••
① 감독형
시나리오→네임→콘티를 먼저 설계하고 머릿속의 ‘영화’를 페이지에 옮긴다.
분량과 흐름이 안정적인 대신, 네임 단계에서 아이디어가 생기는 직관형과는 상성이 안 좋을 수 있다.
② 연출가형
캐릭터의 감정과 ‘가장 보여주고 싶은 한 컷’을 먼저 잡고 장면을 확장한다.
감정 표현과 독특한 컷 연출에 강하지만, 컷이 비슷해지거나 플롯·페이지에서 이탈하기 쉽다.
직관형·일러스트뇌는 이쪽이 그리기 편하다고.

Having trouble making your lineart interesting?
Here's a personal hack that worked wonders for me and might for you too - you can try this with any lineart brush of your choice (pencil, round brush, G-pen, etc.)
1. Turn your thickness down to somewhere below 50, 40 is my ideal range
2. Turn the angle something diagonal, you can tweak but I suggest either 140 or 220
3. (Optional) Allow the brush density to be controlled by pressure
Try it and see how it feels for you~
