Raccoon City REalive | RE3 & RE2 | AI Remake Concept
A quiet walk through the streets of Raccoon City on a beautiful late afternoon, with night drawing near. A light rain falls over the damp asphalt and storefronts as the shops slowly lower their shutters. Water drips from the awnings and marquees. Then short glitches cut through the image: for a second, bodies lie on the ground, shadows crawl, and zombies roam the streets before everything returns to calm.

We did, Chris, we did.
The rules of the Internet now say we get to mock you mercilessly.
I say this as an Internet chud.

Unpopular opinion: The new Resident Evil movie is a good horror/comedy with several hints to the Resident Evil video games. And that’s it. It could be called “Night of the Mutants” and it wouldn’t make a difference.
It’s not a movie you can take seriously, it almost feels as a parody. It focused way too much on the mutants and far too little on the zombies, with too many attempts to “surprise” or “gross you out” with monsters or situations, and a total waste of Resident Evil’s huge lore. The Umbrella scientists are a joke.
The humor is what pulled it furthest away from Resident Evil — and also what saves it as an entertaining movie. Without the humor it would just be a sequence of running into monster A, then monster B, and so on.
In short: To me there still isn’t a decent Resident Evil movie. The closest one was Resident Evil (2002)
