While white Rhodesians held the majority in government, it was the breadbasket of Africa, growing so much food it sold it to other countries. In 1980 black majority rule took over and Mugabe came to power. In 2000 his government seized the land of about 4,500 white farmers and handed it to his loyalists. The only problem was they had no experience and no equipment.. so the farms stopped producing. Inflation hit 79.6 BILLION percent and they printed a 100 TRILLION dollar bill. It went from feeding Africa to collapsing in under a decade after stealing white people's farms.
