Appreciate @near_intents / SHIELD for stepping up on the Bitget incident: flagged $50M+ in attempted laundering flows, froze $503k mid-execution, and waived their own bounty share so we can recover more.
This is what permissionless but not "facilitating known stolen funds" should look like. A public chain doesn't have to choose between being open and excluding hackers, you can build the risk detection in and still let anyone use the chain. More protocols should take notes.
We'll follow the appropriate legal and recovery process on our end. Thank you for showing up and this matters a lot, to Bitget and to our industry.

Starting today, the Tachyon team is releasing a stream of announcements:
* code releases
* specs & ZIPs
* guides & technical posts
* audit reports
and then in a couple weeks we'll be doing a presentation at an unannounced event, stay tuned for more on that!
We're beginning to integrate Tachyon's cryptography with Zakura Common.

Our attacker addresses are publicly listed and actively tracked. We are formally asking @THORChain to refuse service to these addresses. Decentralization is a design principle, not a shield for facilitating known stolen funds.
The industry is watching.
some thoughts on the crypto market and $zec.
i think many of you will say it’s too high to bid $zec but in the grand scheme of things it’s only the beginning.
22b mcap on zcash is an absolute joke and just cause the price reflects $1500 at an evaluation of 22b mcap. you “think” its too high.
220b mcap is when most of you on ct will truly experience life crippling amounts of fomo and still not be able to press the buy button.
you will look back at it and say it was “obvious in hindsight” because it was and will be. i bought $zec at $50 and i also bought up here at $1500. the reason? simple, i recognized that privacy is a commodity and that everyone wants a piece of it. it’s what bitcoin tried to be but failed.
if you understand what you’re holding, you don’t rely on borrowed conviction or belief. if your thesis remains in place. then buy and hold til where you planned.
my targets have not been reached yet and everyone tells me to take some off the table, and that sometimes you need a reset. but that’s not me. that’s not what my thesis or trading plan called for after taking the risk. call me crazy but i know im not. call me lucky but i know i wasn’t.
this market just legged up and many might sell into the pumps and not add to or hold their winners from lack of experience. but those who’ve studied the history and put the time in understand what industry we’re in and how much it’s about to grow.
i will personally be looking to bid almost all pullbacks on some quality alts and adding a heavy dca bag on $zec at specific levels that interest me.
drawdowns don’t matter to me at this point. im not here to be a tourist. im really here. in the trenches. living and breathing what most couldn’t stomach for a day. that’s why i will win. that’s what makes most of us different.

After co-inventing ChatGPT, I kept asking myself: why have superhuman chat models not led to AGI?
I’ve spent the last 2 years in stealth building a new way to train models (RLCD), and a new type of frontier AI model that we are releasing today: Jev
• 20-200x faster
• 40-400x cheaper (w/ output tokens free)
• Frontier composable intelligence optimized for decisions
AFAICT the shortest path to AI-based economic revolution

Zcash is ~1% of Bitcoin's market cap with ~140% price volatility.
But with that volatility comes opportunity: For high-volatility assets, options can be a tool for both risk management and premium income. At current volatility levels, a hypothetical ZEC covered call strategy implies a yield of ~70% compared to ~30% for Bitcoin.

Zcash’s latest rally is a narrative bid. A big market cap does not mean a coin earned its place. Sitting near Solana and Hyperliquid on a ranking list does not mean Zcash does what those two do.
The launch was not fair. For the first four years, 20 percent of every block reward was taken as the Founders’ Reward. That money went to founders, staff, advisors, and early investors. It added up to 2.1 million ZEC, or 10 percent of the 21 million cap. Bitcoin paid miners. Zcash also paid a company and its backers. When that first cut was supposed to stop, a similar 20 percent cut came back as a “development fund”. A coin that writes itself into the block reward should not be sold as clean, neutral money.
The cut did not buy a real economy. Privacy was the sales pitch. Using it was optional. Open addresses stayed the easy path for exchanges and simple wallets. For most of Zcash’s life, most coins sat in the open. Optional privacy is marketing. Default privacy is the protocol. Management stayed a board fight: Electric Coin Company, the Foundation, Bootstrap, the brand name, the wallet, and who gets the cut. In January 2026 the whole ECC team left and said they were pushed out. That is not a side issue. That is how the project runs. A base-layer team that cannot stay in the same building as its nonprofit board is not “decentralized.” It is broken at the top.
Then came the security mess the market is already trying to skip. In May 2026 a serious bug in the Orchard pool was made public. It had been there about four years. In theory it could create fake ZEC with no clear on-chain trail. Because the pool is private, nobody can prove fake coins were never made. Ironwood in July closed the old pool and forced coins through a gate. That is cleanup, not a reason for a top-ten price. A money whose private supply cannot be checked like Bitcoin, and that needed an emergency fix after a four-year bug, is not “hard money.”
The point is plain. An unfair launch, a team cut without a matching product, years of board drama, and a four-year hole in the private pool are not the record of a top-ten network. They are the record of a story coin. Solana and Hyperliquid can be disliked for their own reasons. They still clear real use. Zcash cleared a listing and a squeeze. Those are not the same thing. Mixing them up is like sending 701.4 of the wrong asset, or treating EST and EDT as the same hour.
Thanks to @mert and a few others, I have no Bitcoin anymore.
I got into Bitcoin in 2012, buying my first ever from Bitinstant for around $15 each. I learned about Bitcoin thru some article about The Silk Road. Never used the site, never into drugs, but always anti-authoritarian, so the idea that there was magic internet money that no government could stop was fascinating.
In 2013-2014, I started going to Bitcoin meetups in Portland (PDXBTC), we'd chat Bitcoin and other coins too, if anybody wanted to buy some BTC, there were usually others willing to do a local swap. Some people sold things for BTC, small artisanal knick-knacks or sourdough bread.
We didn't have a term for "Bitcoin maximalists" back then. But the idea that Bitcoin could be the only one, there can be no other cryptocurrency token which has any value to the world... would have sounded ridiculous to any of us.
I learned about other coins, we called "altcoins" (every coin but Bitcoin). Litecoin was a 4x faster Bitcoin, with 4x higher max supply. I thought that was great, because waiting for confirmations for p2p transactions was so slow. Then I discovered Darkcoin -- like Litecoin, but with extra features. I fell in love w/this one, it became Dash, and I was a core dev there for a few years.
So I've been a Bitcoiner since long before most BTC maxis or crypto "OGs", but I can also think rationally about the obvious facts.
- BTC is transparent
- Lightning is confusing, hard to use, fails a lot, ... and not Bitcoin
- Due to the transparent nature, there's a constant quantum threat, a clock ticking down for BTC and all other transparent and obfuscated chains
- Bitcoin is not fungible. Addresses can be censored and added to OFAC lists: github.com/0xB10C/ofac-sanct…. If you follow it out to its logical conclusion, eventually all Bitcoin will be tainted. Even today, a malicious actor with santioned BTC can dust any target addresses, and those become tainted.
But probably the most egregious:
- Bitcoin is ossified. Good luck trying to change any part of it. A sisyphean task.
Wealth seizures, corrupt governments (oxymoron), every CEX requiring KYC. And now with AI to map every transaction. This isn't theory anymore. This is actually happening, and every tax office of every government in the world is hungry to get its hands on this technology.
Meanwhile, there is one cryptocurrency which addresses all of Bitcoin's technical problems, by and large does not have toxic maxis, has a 10-year distribution, with some of the best cryptographers and cryptocurrency software engineers on the planet working on it. With post-quantum and 50k TPS scaling roadmaps.
I still believe other tokens and networks have value, but in my mind, Zcash will take the crown from Bitcoin as the best SoV. There is no advantage to holding BTC over zcash:native .
I don't have any more Bitcoin, because I lost my hardware wallet in a boating accident. But if I did have any, I would have migrated it all to the Zcash Ironwood shielded pool.
