🌏 Just 0.3% of global climate finance reaches family and smallholder farmers, despite producing a third of the world's food.
At Pre-COP31 in Fiji, we joined Pacific farmers to discuss practical solutions, collaboration and climate resilience. 🌾

70% of what we grow and raise in Australia gets sent overseas. 🚢🌾
That means our future market access isn't just decided in the paddock - it's also shaped in international negotiation rooms.
As global markets place greater emphasis on emissions reductions and sustainability, Australian agriculture needs to be part of these conversations to remain competitive.
That's why Farmers for Climate Action attended Pre-COP31 in Fiji - to ensure farmers have a seat at the table.
And it's voices like Youth Climate Champion Sally Higgins that remind us why the next generation needs to be part of these discussions.

FCA’s Ellen Litchfield spoke at the Electrify Australia launch at Parliament House about the real benefits of farm electrification.
“Our diesel use dropped from a thousand litres a month to a thousand litres a year.”
More practical support can help farmers make the switch.
Farmers have a lot to gain from an energy system that is more affordable, reliable and increasingly powered by renewables. 🌾⚡
That’s why Farmers for Climate Action is proud to be part of #ElectrifyAustralia – a growing movement of consumer, business, civil society and research groups calling on the Albanese Government to accelerate electrification across the Australian economy.
Today, FCA’s Ellen Litchfield is joining the Electrify Australia Campaign Launch, sharing the lived experience of what’s needed to electrify agriculture alongside industry and commercial buildings.
For agriculture, electrification has the potential to help farmers reduce reliance on expensive fuels, improve farm efficiency and take greater control of their energy costs. We want to make sure farmers and regional communities are part of the conversation – and share in the benefits of Australia’s energy transition.
From households and transport to agriculture, industry, commercial buildings and resources, electrification is an opportunity to deliver cheaper, more reliable energy for this generation and thrg.aue next.

“Twenty-two years ago, I said farmers were carrying the environmental load for the whole country without getting recognition for it. Today, agriculture is quietly providing a service worth over $1.2 billion a year to coal and gas — and regional Australia is still subsidising big industry.”
— Mal Peters OAM, former NSW Farmers President 🌾
