The sad decline of Screener.in..... There was a time when almost every serious equity investor/researcher in India relied on Screener. It was the gold standard—so far ahead of anything else available that it was almost a de facto monopoly. But reaching the top is one thing. Maintaining that position is much harder. Over the years, competition has exploded. Platforms like StockScans by SOIC now offer far more—management interview scans, near real-time concall summaries/transcripts, multiple charting capabilities, and many other research features. More importantly, they are developing rapidly and seem to incorporate user feedback quickly. And i's just not Stockscans, many other Apps are coming up fast. Sadly, I don't see the same pace of development at Screener. I've been a premium Screener user for years, and I still genuinely like its interface and core product. But I've also provided feedback multiple times through their support channel, and the responses have generally been along the lines of "we'll see what we can do," without much visible evolution. That's disappointing because Screener had the opportunity to keep defining the standard for equity research in India—even if that meant increasing the subscription price, may be optional for additional features. As a full-time investor, I need the best tools available. A few thousand rupees of additional subscriptions is irrelevant if the tools genuinely improve my research process. So I've now taken additional subscriptions to fill some of the gaps in Screener. I still hope Screener evolves faster. It has a fantastic foundation, and I'd much rather see it regain its position at the forefront than watch it slowly become a legacy product.

✨ Launched Screener AI today: screener.in/ai/ It gives super good answers, out-of-box. No need to upload any documents. No prompt engineering needed. It is definitely a bit pricey. We are expecting the costs to come down as new models come in. We also have lots of other interesting ideas around this. 🤗Please give it a try friends.
