Have you ever seen a fulgurite? It's molten sand when lightning strikes sandy ground: the heat fuses the sand into glass, following the exact branching path the bolt took underground. They are long, root-shaped tubes of natural glass.
The track "Falling Drones" picks up exactly where "Chikhai Bardo" leaves off in mid-fall. It's built from a real moment I had: I lied in the park at night with my eyes closed, I was not really present. Then suddenly surfacing, inhaling, eyes open, a bright night sky overhead.
The chord underneath "Chikhai Bardo" is an F augmented. 3 notes (F, A, C#), each a major third apart, splitting the octave into 3 equal parts.
Because of that symmetry, it has no true root. You can call it F aug, A aug, or C# aug & be equally right.
It has no home.

"Chickhai Bardo" is named after the first of three intermediate states in Tibetan Buddhist belief: the bardo of the moment of death.
"Lignin Formation" is named for lignin which is rigid polymer that reinforces plant cell walls and is what makes wood, wood. Trees produce more of it under mechanical stress: wind, load, being pushed and pulled.
Structurally, that's what a tree is doing during a storm, it is reacting to strain by building a stronger version of itself.

"Cumulonimbus" is inspired from a moment in The Utility Room I, and many others, lived: a chapter called "The Run", where a Watcher, a floating Moai head, slowly approaches as you cross a valley, then ends up floating directly above your head.

I randomly heard "Creek" in a hardware store. A place that usually never plays music but somehow this track was playing loudly at the reception. I didn't go there to talk about it. Kinda regretting it now.
