Big companies stealing code? Not on our watch.
We ❤️ open source, but as a small team, we needed a way to share our work without risking exploitation. That’s why we chose the Functional Source License (FSL) by @getSentry.
Here’s how FSL protects our innovation while staying open:
→ 2-year grace period: Free to explore, use, and modify. No commercialization allowed.
→ Collaboration without exploitation: Use the code, just don’t compete with us.
→ Simple and fair: Encourages openness while protecting small teams like ours.

The "OSI compliant good, non-osi- compliant bad" rhetoric is too simplistic. You can be compliant yet very proprietary (eg thin open core, or customer contracts contingent on not sharing code like Red Hat), just like non-compliant licenses can be fairly generous (eg fair source)
Fair Source is being adopted for new and existing projects nearly every day: fss.cool 😎
