It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel. If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.

Everyone felt like fools: US talks on an energy truce ended in a fiasco – Kyiv Independent The Ukrainian delegation had intended to discuss a possible mutual agreement to refrain from attacking energy infrastructure, as well as security in the Black Sea. Instead, US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner presented the Ukrainians with a fait accompli: the US had temporarily lifted sanctions on Russian diesel exports. The publication quotes a Ukrainian official: "It wasn't just our delegation there; the European delegation was present too. Everyone sat there feeling like fools... Honestly, everyone was in shock." During the talks, the US side attempted to blame Kyiv for the lack of progress, as Ukraine refused to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries without receiving corresponding concessions. One of the participants confirmed that Washington had threatened to curtail the sharing of intelligence that assists Ukraine in striking targets inside Russia.

This is the lowest moral point for America since slavery. Every Republican politician, every worthless fence-sitting analyst, and every person who failed to call out Trump for the evil bastard that he is remains a culprit. It’s a shit sandwich and you people all take a bite.
UN Ambassador Mike Waltz on Trump's deal with Putin: "The Ukrainians have been attacking Russian refineries as part of the war. The president has been clear in asking the Ukrainians to stop."

This isn't a licence to export diesel. It's a licence to keep killing Ukrainians.

Mariupol. Archival footage. Estimated 100,000 lives lost — buried under rubble or in mass graves. Anyone pressuring Ukraine to surrender under the pretext of peace negotiations is no better than Putin himself.

The front. This is where independence is won. And the path to peace runs through these very labyrinths, these very corridors. And when we say, “Ukraine is holding on,” this resilience begins right here at the front, in command posts like this and at every one of our positions – where Ukraine is – because Ukraine has defenders. Our warriors. I thank you – everyone who is defending our life, our values, Ukraine’s right to exist, and the future of our entire state. I thank everyone who wears a patch on their shoulder, and on whose shoulders rests our independence. With gratitude and respect to all our defenders, we say today: Glory to you! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!

- Olena Zelenska 🇺🇦: "If Ukrainian soldiers, despite fierce resistance against the enemy and the loss of their comrades, haven't got tired of liberating Ukrainian land, and if Ukrainians, despite their grief and tears, haven't got tired of defending their children and their future, how can people somewhere in a safe country get tired of reading the news?"

- Donald Tusk - PM of Poland "The truth is obvious: Vladimir Putin is a war criminal, and the only reason for the war in Ukraine is Russia's aggression against Ukraine. There is no room for neutrality or false equivalence here. When it comes to who is responsible for this war, who is the aggressor, who is the victim, and what caused this war, there is no room for negotiation. You can negotiate the terms of peace, discuss how to help Ukraine and to what extent, but there is absolutely no room for speculation about who is guilty and who is not" Simply awesome man 🫡

Russia is already lying about Kyiv, pretending this was about “military targets.” Hotels are burning. Apartment blocks are burning. Civilians are still trapped under the rubble. I went on @SkyNews to say the obvious: Russia is talking absolute shit.

How much do you think Russia will have to pay Ukraine sooner or later for this alone? 50 billion, 250 billion, 1 trillion or more dollars? Putin is no less a criminal than Hitler

- Giorgia Meloni: .."Those who think that peace can be achieved by asking Ukraine to surrender are not working for peace, but for the legitimisation of aggression and for future wars. If we were to accept Russia's aggression as a normal instrument of foreign policy, we would be opening the door to instability everywhere in the world" I absolutely agree with her... 😉
