There is a word in Arabic: muwalat.
It means loyalty, alliance, the taking of intimate allies from among those who are enemies of the community.
The Quran addresses it directly. Multiple times. With unusual specificity.
Not as a minor infraction but as a fundamental violation of the identity of a Muslim community.
"O you who believe, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies."
The verse does not say: do not take them as allies unless they offer good security guarantees.
The verse does not say: unless they provide economic development partnerships.
The verse does not say: unless the alternative is political instability in your kingdom.
The Quran understood that there would always be material incentives for muwalat.
The material incentives are precisely why the prohibition is so strong.
The incentives are not a justification. They are the temptation that the prohibition exists to guard against.
Now look at the map.
Look at which Muslim governments have intelligence-sharing agreements with Israel.
Look at which Muslim governments coordinate militarily with the country providing Israel unconditional support.
Look at which Muslim governments have normalized, officially, the relationship that six decades of Arab political consensus said could not be normalized while occupation continued.
And look at which Muslim government is building missiles in underground facilities because it made the decision, forty-seven years ago, that muwalat was not an option it was willing to purchase with its sovereignty.
The Quran does not ask you to be Iranian.
It asks you to look at the map and answer honestly.

Pompeo is part of a wider network. The Foundation for Defense of Democracies was established in 2001 as EMET, a group whose own tax filing described its purpose as improving Israel's image in North America. United Against Nuclear Iran, a hawkish pressure group, spent the years after sanctions were lifted under the 2015 deal intimidating banks and companies that wanted to do business with Iran. These groups opposed the 2015 nuclear deal, efforts to revive it in 2021, the 2025 negotiations, and the June memorandum of understanding in Islamabad. Each failed diplomatic effort brought Washington closer to a war that serves Israeli interests at the expense of American taxpayers.
His new firm, CNQ, is built from the same material. Its president, Matthew Kroenig, wrote "Time to Attack Iran," a 2012 essay calling preventive war the least bad option. Senior adviser Elliott Abrams pleaded guilty in the Iran-Contra affair and went on to serve as Trump's Iran envoy.
Pompeo, meanwhile, has become a lobbyist for the MEK, a cult-like organization that fought alongside Saddam Hussein's regime during the Iran-Iraq War and helped suppress Kurdish uprisings in Iraq. After leaving office, Pompeo travelled to the group's compound in Albania to urge Washington to engage with it.
These pressure groups represent everything that is wrong with American foreign policy: private interests masquerading as national interests, ideological crusades at the expense of diplomacy, and a willingness to drag the United States into wars whose costs are borne by American taxpayers while the strategic benefits accrue elsewhere.

There are Muslim scholars who have spent decades explaining why music is haram.
Why the wrong kind of beard is haram.
Why a woman’s ankle, visible in the wrong context, requires correction.
These same scholars have found elaborate theological language for why full diplomatic and economic relations with the regime committing a documented genocide in Gaza are "complicated."
"Nuanced."
Requiring careful consideration of "geopolitical realities."
The ankle required no geopolitical consideration.
The precision of religious attention follows the direction of political power.
It always has.
That is not Islam.
That is the religion of whoever is funding the mosque.

How to understand the new vision of a constructive China-US relationship of strategic stability? Has Washington's global tariff war achieved its goals? And what lies behind the so-called "China Shock" claim?
We sat down with Di Dongsheng, dean of the School of Global and Area Studies at Renmin University of China, for an in-depth interview to explore the shifting dynamics of China-US relations.
Here are his key quotes from the interview:
• Despite their different rhetoric, the Biden and Trump administrations have reached the same underlying conclusion: "Confronting China brings them no advantage", while the risks are enormous and the consequences difficult to bear.
• China's manufacturing sector has not unfairly crowded out other countries, as its share of global output is broadly proportional to its share of the world's population. "We have merely restored some balance."
• AI competition is "a multifaceted competition that will play out over the long term", involving not only chips, computing power and algorithms, but also productive applications and the ability to balance the interests of new winners and losers. #MediaUnlocked

Why the rest of the world needs to develop sovereign AI capabilities.
🚨 ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt reveals in Israel that he's been working with all the top AI Frontier Labs to push them to suppress "anti-Semitism."
"We've been working with the Frontier Labs—OpenAI, Anthropic, Alphabet, the company that runs Gemini, Google, Meta, who runs Muse, and others, X, who run Grok—testing their models and using the results to push them to do better."
"We've had excellent collaboration with Silicon Valley."
"We've run the tests and seen where anti-Semitism shows up and helped them develop strategies to tackle it right in the source code."

Sorry Ukrainians, you buy into this you deserve everything you get.
Of course the Americans, Brits, French, German they don't care if this number is wrong. Slavs are dying and that's all they care. Even if the number is 1/10.
But you, Ukrainians, are selling this to them. Your president, Zelensky. So 100% your responsibility.
Either you whack Zelensky or you disappear as a nation, either way is fine with me. Any Slav nation that chooses this deserves to disappear. We've got plenty of Slavic tribes.

The real fear of some Arab regimes is not that Iran will drag them into war.
It is that Iran will drag their populations back into memory.
Back into the forgotten idea that Muslim lands should not be military real estate for foreign empires.
Back into the dangerous belief that Palestine is not an inconvenience but a test.
Back into the suspicion that the rulers are not weak by necessity, but by design.
This is why Iran’s posture terrifies them.
Because resistance is contagious.
And cowardice becomes much harder to market when someone nearby is still willing to absorb the cost of saying no.

I recently watched a few AI-generated short dramas, and I realized that this thing is not a substitute for film or television at all—it's a substitute for the novel. It can display the stories or scenes described in novels at low cost, and it is much more vivid and information-rich than novels. Obviously, it will be more appealing than the plain textual description of a novel.
Imagine this: in the future, after getting a novel, you can easily use AI tools to generate a TV series to watch. Who would still read novels then?

I am broadly pro-Russia pro-Putin, but I will never forgive him for not whacking this guy with an Oreshnik.
It's probably 5D chess. If you want to destroy Ukraine you do NOT want to remove Zelensky.
It's hard to watch and hard not to judge.
A million people died so this guy can live so geopolitical strategic goals can be achieved. It's hard to accept even being pro-Russian.

If the confrontation is between America and Israel on one side and Iran and the forces of resistance on the other, then neutrality is a lie.
There is no neutral position between the bomb and the child.
Between the occupier and the besieged.
Between the one who arms genocide and the one who answers it.
There is only the side you serve and the language you use to hide it.
So yes, the question remains.
On which side do you stand?

The most frightening thing is not that we don't understand China, but that we don't understand China while being absolutely convinced that we do.
The leader of a major country writes 700 pages laying out his logic of governance, historical judgments, institutional anxieties, and methods of reform-and yet almost no one in the West bothers to read it seriously, while everyone continues to debate what "China really wants."
That, in itself, is deeply ironic.
Some people should resist cognitive laziness.

Sara Parsaei, an Iranian artist and flutist, has brought a sound from Iran's ancient musical heritage back to life by playing the ancient instrument "Arjan"—an instrument whose roots trace back to the ancient civilizations of this land.
The Arjan is among the well-known ancient instruments whose visual evidence is seen in remaining artifacts from the Elamite civilization. One of the most significant pieces of evidence is the depiction of a musician playing an instrument from the lyre or barbat family on the inner surface of the historical Arjan Bowl, which was discovered alongside other valuable artifacts in a Neo-Elamite tomb in Behbahan County, Khuzestan Province.
This instrument, later known as the "Arjan Instrument," was reconstructed in 2008 through the efforts of Seifollah Shokri—an artist and researcher of ancient instruments—based on historical evidence, breathing new life into a portion of ancient Iran's musical heritage.

Baqaei preaching the Gospel of Mencken:
To frighten their own people, they conjure up an imaginary enemy in the sky to overshadow the real threat on the ground.
The real danger lies neither beyond their borders nor in the skies over Los Angeles and San Diego. It lies in a ruling establishment that has imposed an illegal war on the world, with global consequences.
The U.S. president has even described the destruction of Los Angeles and San Diego as “a very small price to pay.”
This is a textbook example of the politics of fear: frightening people with an imaginary threat, portraying the destruction of their own cities as an acceptable price to pay, and diverting their attention from the real danger.

You don't have to be Christian to believe you have/are a soul. You only have to be human. It's less a 'belief' than an (apparently ineluctable) way of making sense of life and world. Anthropologists have never come across a human group without some form of soul concept.
As a Christian, I don’t mind saying that I believe humans have souls and that is tied to self-awareness and consciousness, but I realize that many people are not believers, so I don’t base my argument on that.
Instead, I base my argument on the technical understanding and limitations of how LLMs work and their limitations to prove they are not conscious, human-equivalent, feel, or alive.
People who believe that LLMs are those things have fallen for emulation and what the system was designed to do. The system can be quite convincing and it will only get more convincing with time, but that does not mean that it has become sentient or has desires, feelings, likes or dislikes, or a conscience.

There is a sentence that almost never appears in Western coverage:
Under international law, a people under military occupation have the right to resist that occupation.
This is not a controversial claim.
It is in the United Nations Charter.
It is in the Geneva Conventions.
It has been affirmed repeatedly by the UN General Assembly, explicitly referring to "all available means, including armed struggle."
It is the same principle invoked to describe French resistance to Nazi occupation as heroic rather than terrorist.
It is so uncontroversial that it doesn't need to be stated when applied to almost any other occupied people in history.
When applied to Palestinians, it disappears.
Not because it became false.
Because the people who control which sentences appear in the news made a decision about which populations are permitted to have legally recognized rights that are spoken aloud in prime time.
That decision is political.
The silence around it is also political.
The pretense that both are journalistic is the lie inside the lie.

BOLIVIA'S ATTORNEY GENERAL ARRESTED AFTER PROSECUTING TRUMP ALLY
Bolivia’s facing a major political crisis that puts its sovereignty into question, after Attorney General Roger Mariaca was arrested less than 48 hours after Washington revoked his U.S. visa and accused him of aiding drug traf*ickers.
Mariaca had been overseeing investigations into Argentine political consultant Fernando Cerimedo, a figure with documented ties to Trump-world operatives and facing allegations in Bolivia involving attempted femicide, illicit enrichment and drug trafficking, all of which he denies.
Even more suspicious, just before Mariaca’s arrest, Vice President Edmand Lara had released an audio allegedly featuring Cerimedo discussing $15,000 payments linked to aircraft in Beni, while Cerimedo’s former partner Nadia Beller released photos showing him alongside Donald Trump Jr. and former Trump strategist Brad Parscale.
Then the prosecutor became the accused, and Bolivia’s government arrested Mariaca and 13 others, alleging a criminal network inside the justice system.
Mariaca denied the charges, called Washington’s actions political interference, and his office described his detention as an “abduction.” Lara has since warned that he could also be arrested on what he called fabricated charges.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio publicly backed President Rodrigo Paz and praised Bolivia’s crackdown, while Paz enacted Law 1773, allowing the Assembly to suspend an Attorney General facing criminal charges and appoint an interim replacement.
While none of this is direct proof that Washington ordered Mariaca’s arrest, the timing raises obvious questions that cannot be denied. Why did the prosecutor investigating a politically connected operative suddenly become the target immediately after Washington moved against him?
And why did Washington immediately spring into action by releasing several statements in support of an arrest without any judicial oversight and send U.S. representatives to the Bolivian assembly to hold private meetings?
Critics argue that this looks like a classic case of U.S. intervention under the “Donroe” Doctrine.
