📢#NewPaper Identifying meteor showers is difficult and an active research topic: radiant overlap, weak/variable activity, and a large sporadic background complicate any catalog. We tested how a state-of-the-art unsupervised method performs. Now in @AAS_Office @AAS_Press

It's so exciting to see our experiment finally run in micro-g! Thanks to @ERC_Research and @esa for supporting it, and to #ZARM for hosting us. And this is just the beginning, stay tuned!
🚀 The #GEMS experimental campaign, part of ERC project #TRACES & funded by @esa, conducted 8 tests at #ZARM Drop Tower to study asteroid-surface collisions in microgravity.
More tests coming in March 2025! 🌌

One minute to go and I'm not breathing. 20 seconds, 10 seconds, still not breathing. Then the brightest light lifts up the rocket, and #Hera with it. As Hera goes up, tears roll down my eyes.

Dear Hera, I acknowledge you like drama. And if this is the beginning of your journey in space, I can't wait to see what is coming next.
Deep gratitude to @ESA_Hera team and @deepbluedot who made it possible. Proud of the @AerospacePoliMI team for being part of it.
Go Hera!
