This paper hits on something many of us feel: progress is slowed not by lack of data, but by the absence of a generative map that shows how the levels relate.
When you surface the shared geometry beneath cellular, circuit, systems, and cognitive frameworks, the “epistemological divide” becomes a convergence zone rather than a barrier.
Once the underlying structure is clear, cross-scale inference becomes much more natural, and ontological clarity emerges almost automatically.
Brilliant article. Feels like the field is moving toward this integrative view.

One of the more provocative and potentially important articles I've read in a while: A call for a "map" of neuroscience understanding and relationships between domains. apertureneuro.org/article/13…
Absolutely agree! ...and here's that outstanding article from the same Aperture special issue "State of the Brain" apertureneuro.org/article/14…
Replying to @fMRI_today
The follow up article on data fusion as an integrative, hypothesis-linking framework almost writes itself. ;-)

One of my favorite podcasts, an absolute game-changer! As we’re working on a podcast to showcase Saudi scientists and their incredible work, this gave me so much inspiration.
Can’t wait to bring our vision to life and highlight the amazing talent in our community!
Thanks Peter 🤝🏼
