As a veteran, I'm furious he told those poisoned by Camp Lejeune's water they'd only get help IF REPUBLICANS WIN.
This rotten son of a bitch sees veterans (or anyone else for that matter) as tools to manipulate.
I know, thatโs not news. Weโve known this.
But..that makes it no less disgusting or disturbing.
VOTE.

As chilling & horrifying as the brutal & violent attack on Dr Haines was, I am beginning to think that it may have had absolutely nothing to do with Politics, terrorism or Dr Haines personally.
It just seems like a 'perfect storm' & opportunistic attack, presented to an addled brain, spotting a soft Target , but needing to harm something & spend his rage, to vent.๐ฌ๐
Watching the bone-chillingly horrific vision on TV News, I was reminded of the mentally disturbed, knife wielding man, who rampaged thru Bondi Junction mall, (killing several )looking for 'soft, unaware Targets, yet wen a burly (un-armed) male, confronted him, he turned on his heel & ran in the opposite direction.
The circumstances seem not unlike this fellow, who was detained by the gallantry of the Barber, (who was unarmed), but brave & had presence of mind, plus determined to protect his neighbour.
It also reminds me of the brave soul who disarmed the gunman at Bondi Beach.๐ฌ๐
It underlines the old Maxim;
For Evil to succeed,
Good People should do nothing!
My sincere best wishes to Dr Haines& family๐๐๐๐

I am confident in saying this, there is not a single leader of any nation that actually respects Trump. A few may fear the power of the US, but that isn't respect. Others, like Netanyahu & Putin, play him like a fiddle, that isn't respect. America's allies are disgusted by his antics, that isn't respect. All, see his stupidity, corruption & willful ignorance, perfectly called out by Mark Carney. There is no respect, don't fool yourselves MAGA, the world is shaking its head, or laughing at you & your worthless buffoon of a leader.

Those countries have universal healthcare. 32 of 33 developed countries provide medical care to all citizens.
The US doesn't. We have for-profit healthcare. 150K people go bankrupt each year because of medical debt. Many donโt seek care because of copays and deductibles.
It was a ridiculous decision, Sally, and I remain horrified and appalled.
There seems to be some confusion amongst some people, so I will explain it as clearly as I can:
Australiaโs sex discrimination act was created for women, on the basis of our sex. When it was enacted in 1984 (ominous year, in hindsight) employment was a big part of it.
There was a part of the act, section 7D, that allowed โspecial measuresโ where things exclusively for women werenโt even classed as discrimination, basically when it was being a woman is what actually mattered in the situation. Specific employment/opportunity provisions andโฆ woman-only spaces fell/fall into this category.
In 2013, the Gillard amendments introduced โgender identityโ while taking the definitions of woman & man out of the act. Sex was never defined, but in a normal world it didnโt have to be. It could only have meant one thing (a mistake, again in hindsight).
By the time the trans absurdity hit fever pitch, Australian institutions were captured. This included those meant to be the custodians of the SDA. Suddenly, all they cared about was โgender identityโ aka transgender ideology.
When the Tickle v Giggle case came along, it started with an Australian Human Rights Commission complaint. To settle it, aka not have it advance to federal court, I was expected to just agree with transgender ideology. I donโt.
I wish I could say I completely understood the magnitude at the time, but itโs almost impossible to. You think you do, but you donโt really until it hits you like a bus.
But what I did know, instinctively, was that if I folded, I couldnโt live with it, nor would it help because all it signaled was that โweโ would just accept it if threatened. I found myself in a position to challenge the absurdity, and I did, because I knew not doing it would have been worse no matter what.
Obviously, everyone knows now, the courts ruled against me in every way they could. From what a woman is, to 7D, to damages. I lost - and have lost - everything.
But what does it mean to everyone else in reality?
It means the sex discrimination commissioner told the court that the ordinary meaning of woman includes men who claim to be women, and the court accepted that. Men who claim to be women are women in Australia, via the only legislation they have to validate it.
It means that for every aspect of the SDA, per the SDCโs demand, woman includes men who claim to be women. From employment to women only spaces to pregnancy protections, because of section 7D.
Did we warn about this in our court submissions and arguments? Yes. That was actually our entire case. You can read it. Itโs all publicly available.
The high court said that we would have no possibility of success. We were arguing that women is adult human female and this matters in, tada, section 7D. That was it. The high court said โhell no wayโ. The high court is captured too.
As it stands, due to legal precedent, a special measure for women based on sex does not provide a defense to gender identity discrimination. That means that all special measures for women fall to gender identity, which will only be used by men who claim to be women, and includes - tada - employment, and women only spaces.
It means that men who claim to be women have more rights than actual women, while simultaneously taking away our rights.
I donโt know how many more times I could say the โTickle v Giggleโ case is about more than โjustโ one app, Iโve been saying it for almost 5 years, but I will continue to do it until everyone understands. They wiped womenโs rights off the map.
Itโs a fโing mess. It doesnโt work. Itโs incoherent. Itโs ideological. It writes women out of law. Itโs corruption. Itโs totalitarian. Itโs bullsh-t.
Itโs the test of any government: are you ok with legislating a lie?

Why the Irish rape crisis centre consent ad is a failure -
The majority of sexual abuse of children is perpetrated by family members & close family friends.
94% of those abusers are male.
Thatโs, male.
Despite being fully aware of this, the DRCC chose to use an elderly woman as an example of a predator.
This is dishonest, misleading, misogynist & distracts from the reality of who the predators are - it also infuriated people who know that overwhelmingly itโs not not the granny.
Itโs predatory men. Fathers. Stepfathers. Uncles. Brothers. Male Cousins. Male Friends.
So why did the rape crisis centre use an elderly woman as a signifier of sexual predation?
I donated to this fund.
Itโs going well
~$500,000 when I donated
Letโs see if we can get it up to $1 million, in her honour.
If you'd like to do something, anything, to support Helen Haines and send love to her and her family, you can donate in her name to Save The Children. A special account has been set up with all donations going to Save The Children
Please share if you can

The way we are going, massive corporations are going to be the only ones left!
The country can only rely on so much personal taxes and GST for so long. We donโt have a manufacturing sector anymore. AI is taking over those positions anyway. We need to stop the AI boom! Not hold hands with it.

Cheers, My accident was years ago, all good, but hers wasn't an accident. That's the worst thing. That's what's got me upset. I don't know her, she's a politician but it doesn't mean it doesn't make me upset. I don't know why people are so bloody disgustingly bad sometimes.

I feel absolutely heartbroken for Helen Haines, having read the confirmation from her husband that she has lost both her legs.
Life can be so terribly cruel at times. And news like this puts so much of the everyday bitching & moaning into perspective.
My heart goes out to Helen, her husband & their family. I cannot begin to imagine what they are going through.

Who else believes that despite Biden's struggles leading up to his withdrawal in 2024, he was still far more competent than the Trump we're seeing today?
Holy shit! He did a u turn and drove over her again? That is hatred. And of lovely, respectful, kind Helen Haines. What is happening to us? And to men? Social media? Thatโs all it took? Unbelievable.

We donโt tip in NZ. We make sure businesses pay their workerโs properly via a minimum wage. Tipping is archaic. US businesses - pay your workers properly.
