🇺🇸🇮🇱 Vance REFUSES to back Netanyahu after Trump endorsed him, says he only endorses American candidates
Trump's Saturday endorsement was a first for a sitting president in an Israeli race, and it landed eight days before the vote with Hegseth meeting Netanyahu unannounced at an air base today.
Asked to join, his vice president said "I endorse American candidates" and that the midterms are where his focus is.
The Hungary trip to endorse Orban makes that answer hard to read as a principle.
Vance has spent the whole Iran war as the administration's resident skeptic on a new round of strikes, and Netanyahu is the loudest voice asking for one.
Declining to endorse him isn't a break with Trump, but it's the vice president keeping his name off a war that a lot of his 2028 voters are already done with.
