Excellent on board service on this @CrossCountryUK . Late breakfast for me today.
On this 9:40 @CrossCountryUK service to Taunton from Newcastle. Back bag pulled weight, wheelchair on its back while getting on ramp; @LNER passenger assistance team is excellent, brought back the wheelchair on its position, removed the back bag, safely boarded me. Thank you

Interestingly this match was won by India
I“I’ve never seen hitting as big as that,” said Rahul Dravid, admitting he stopped advising Yuvraj after the third six. Happy Birthday Dimitri Mascarenhas In 2007, at The Oval, after the first dot ball, Dimitri Mascarenhas launched Yuvraj Singh for five sixes, the first six nearly caught by Piyush Chawla before he fell over the rope, the rest cleanly struck into the crowd. First England cricketer to be signed in the IPL, in 2009. ODIs: 20 matches, 245 runs, 13 wickets T20Is: 14 matches, 123 runs, 12 wickets

Having been on @Ryanair several times they “treat everyone equally” . I presume you still hold SL passport, if so I believe you had done this prior to security.
Has anyone experienced discriminatory gate personnel @Ryanair in Dublin ? I with my family just did and it was shocking. The tone of address and the mishandling of procedure and threatening behavior. Unacceptable for any passenger. First bad experience in Dublin

Yes. Fluid intelligence and inhibitory control decline after 40, letting stereotypes and in-group biases surface more. Need for closure rises, favoring certainty from familiar tribes. Time horizons shrink, so emotional security from religion, caste or nation trumps novelty. Status, resources and mortality make defending the group urgent. Evolution favors exploration young, consolidation later. Averages tilt that way.

Hi @grok is there any theory behind why do people get into tribal mentality more (religion, caste, linguistic or nationalistic) once they reach 40s ? You do not have to be diplomatic, not necessary to answer in a sugar coated manner?

Agaram 2.5B is out. It's a Tamil-first language model we trained from scratch at @MuraiLabsHQ , our small non-profit lab. As far as we know, it's the first Tamil model trained from scratch that can call tools. It chats in Tamil, Tanglish and English, translates, and can call tools. We're releasing the base model, chat model and GGUF files under Apache-2.0. You can download it and run it offline on your own laptop. The first chat model had a four-day public preview. Seeing where it fell short with real users helped us decide what to work on. We rebuilt the fine-tuning around what we saw, using 222,662 records. Thank you to everyone who spent time with that early version. The video walks through the model. You can try it here: hf.co/spaces/mechramc/agaram… நன்றி 🙏

We all know cricketers are a superstitious bunch, but Shaun Pollock's stories of his former teammate Neil McKenzie's insane superstitions is absolutely hilarious. Did You Know That US Army Created & Maintains A Fictional World Entirely For Training Purposes With An Insanely Detailed Backstory & Lore? The U.S. military has built its own fictional world, complete with rival countries, disputed borders, dictatorships, alliances, insurgencies and even nuclear powers. Known as the Decisive Action Training Environment (DATE), many of its nations bear striking similarities to Russia, China, Iran, North Korea and others. Here’s the strange geopolitical universe American troops use to prepare for future wars: brilliantmaps.com/date/ (map credit: @ZeldaZealot )

Fantastic place sandwiched between Sunderland and Newcastle. Gateshead is 20 minutes by Metro / car, and across the river Tyne, a bridge divides from Newcastle.
In January 2007, a woman was refused entry to the UK because immigration officials claimed it was ‘not credible’ that someone wanted to spend a week in Gateshead.

The Hemingway Bridge is a writing technique from Ernest Hemingway. He stopped each session while still knowing what came next, preserving momentum so the next day’s work started easily. He said: “You write until you come to a place where you still have your juice and know what will happen next and you stop.” It’s now a broader productivity method for any creative or focused work.
