I'm not as alarmed by the situation in France as other people because I've read enough French history to know that occasionally burning down Paris because a suburban school district's teachers are getting a 25% raise instead of a 28% raise is one of their national pastimes.
I've been looking at illustrations of pre-19th century Anglican ceremonial and was struck by this depiction of Durham Cathedral in 1790. What stands out to me is the apparent longways position of the Table, despite this being long post-Laud, and the two quite large candles.
I think any Anglican congregation looking for a building should just move into the nearest Presbyterian church, considering we already live rent-free in their heads.
I'm surprised so many people are guessing this is an Anglican parish, even without the 🦬 in the OP's username my first guess still would've been LCMS.

The rest of us that believe in science and medicine watching you cornballs argue.
The Catholic Church's opposition to the death penalty becomes more understandable when you realize it's mostly used in places that don't have Western-style systems of rights and due process but instead look more like this.
A question for the pro-death penalty side:
In 2010, a Catholic woman from a village in Pakistan was sentenced to death after a squabble with her Muslim neighbors over a cup of water. They claimed she slandered Mohammed i.e. committed the act of blasphemy.
The state mandated she be given the death penalty. Pope Benedict stepped in and called for her release. She spent 8 years in jail but was eventually released and fled the country in 2018.
Question: Should the Pope have remained silent and not intervened with the affairs of Pakistan and their use of the death penalty?
I had a grumpy old man moment today. I was using a computer at the library and saw some kids had downloaded Roblox on two of the computers. I deleted it and emptied the recycle bin on both of them before I left.
You need to be Excel-maxxing
You need to be spreadsheet-pilled
You need to be arranging every set of data you know into neatly organized cells of rows and columns
There used to be a spreadsheet that would make the rounds with ACNA diocesan reporting data sorted by positions on women's ordination. I remember the data being out of date by a few years, so I made my own based on the 2024 data (the latest I could find).

That young chad's name? Albert Einstein.
I talked to a young man last week. He was a 6'4" Chad, 28 years old, brown hair, A10 (light blue) eyes, D2 college basketball player, tan, lean muscles. Handsome guy. But where did I meet him? He was working as a waiter at a small diner. Earning $2.13 an hour plus tips. The girls who swipe right on dating apps with height filters are the same girls (I assume) who reject his job applications when he applies to white-collar corporate jobs. I gave him a $40 tip on like a $15 breakfast, but I have no idea how he pays rent. He told me he's living in a small apartment with 3 other guys who got him the waiter job. And he said he had a hard time finding any kind of other work for several months before he got hired at the diner.
How is this young white man supposed to buy a house on $2.13 per hour? How is he supposed to attract a hot girl and settle down? This is what we're doing to our best young men. We are brutally crushing and suppressing American talent. It's wrong. It's unfair, and it needs to stop.
