Meet MAGAt William H. "Bill" Chase, the 68-year-old registered Republican and former Town Supervisor of Dannemora, NY, and retired corrections sergeant who used his local prominence to shield his illicit actions. On February 6, 2025, Chase was taken into custody during a multi-agency internet crimes task force sting. Police caught him arriving at a Best Western Plus hotel in Plattsburgh, New York, where he fully intended to meet and sexually exploit an individual he believed to be a 13-year-old boy. The investigation revealed that prior to traveling to the hotel, Chase used digital platforms to transmit explicit photographs of his own intimate parts to the minor—who was actually an undercover law enforcement operative. He was formally charged with second-degree attempted rape and first-degree distribution of explicit material to a minor. In March 2026, Chase pleaded guilty to all charges. In April 2026, he was sentenced to 90 days in jail followed by 10 years of felony probation. Due to his history as a youth sports official, his sentence carries strict, mandatory long-term supervision and child-proximity restrictions on the sex offender registry.
