🚨 Trump administration preparing $2.8 billion sale of 40,000 2,000-pound bombs to Israel
The Washington Post reports the sale would be the largest of its kind in years. The MK-84 has been dropped by Israel hundreds of times on Gaza during the genocide, including in zones it designated safe for civilians, maiming and killing thousands of Palestinians.
▪️ An MK-84 explosion sends fragments thousands of feet and can level entire buildings, per a former US Army explosive-ordnance technician
▪️ The bomb was the only munition the Biden administration paused sending to Israel earlier in the genocide, over concern for Palestinian civilians; Trump reversed that freeze in his first month back in office, January 2025
▪️ The $2.8 billion package, funded by US taxpayers, includes 20,000 MK-84s, 20,000 BLU-117s, and 20,000 I-2000 Penetrator warheads, and eclipses a $2.04 billion sale in 2025 that bypassed congressional review
▪️ It has been informally notified to Congress amid growing Democratic frustration over US support for Israel; in July, more than 100 House Democrats voted to end all aid to the country

Russia will get the largest gas field in Ukraine.
In 2010, the Yuzivska gas field was discovered in Donbas, containing enough fuel to power the entire European continent for 60 years.
Obama pressed then-Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych to let US corporations exclusively develop it, but this was denied. The CIA then effected a coup of the Ukrainian government and established a proxy state in 2014.
That area will be entirely Russian and all options held by British-Dutch Shell or Canadian Yuzgaz will expire.

Money costs 5% in the United States and 15% in much of the Global South. Hudson and Tyson spent an hour on the machinery that could change that.
The strange thing about this conversation is how unglamorous the revolution is. Vault receipts. Clearing houses. Market makers. That's what a new financial order is actually made of.

But clearly its unelected representatives would like to be.
We have seen Russia’s dangerous recklessness at full display in the past 48 hours.
A Russian warship fired flares at a Danish helicopter.
NATO jets had to shoot down a drone over Lithuania.
Russia struck a passenger train near the border with Ukraine.
And Poland pulled a drone from its shores.
We need to be clear-eyed: those are not accidents.
They are calculated attempts by Russia to weaken our resolve.
Europe will not dial back its support for Ukraine.
