Frontier systems are moving from inference to action.
Once an agent can call tools or act in the physical world, the hard question is no longer is the model smart?
It is:
What exactly was this system authorized to do and can that authority be proven after the fact?
Most of what you'll read about the EU AI Act today is wrong.
2 August 2026 was set as the Act's general application date — the day the high-risk rules landed. That's the post everyone drafted months ago.
Then the law changed.
Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 — the Digital Omnibus on AI, in force since 27 July — moved the high-risk obligations: Annex III systems (hiring, credit, education, law enforcement) to 2 December 2027. AI embedded in regulated products to 2 August 2028.
What actually switches on today:
→ Article 50 transparency. If people are interacting with your AI, you tell them. Synthetic content gets labeled.
→ Enforcement. GPAI model obligations have applied since August 2025 — today the Commission's powers to investigate and fine arrive.
So here's the real governance question: if your organization budgeted to be high-risk-ready today, you just got sixteen months back. Do your oversight gates stand down because the deadline moved?
Ours don't. In the AI-SDLC framework, G-0 — continuous oversight — is a standing state, not a compliance date. Deadlines are the regulator's schedule. Your obligations to the people your systems affect run on yours.
Today we committed a dated application-status brief and a crosswalk from our G-12→G-0 governance gates to the Act's articles — open, timestamped, sources cited.

Exochain is the independent trust and receipts layer for frontier AI systems.
It makes autonomous execution scoped, revocable, and provable.

On July 2, 2026, 250 years later to the day, EXOCHAIN shipped a constitutional substrate for autonomous intelligence: a declaration that AI systems must not merely execute, but stand under consent, governance, custody, and accountable proof. github.com/exochain/exochain
Would it be insane to require proof before trusting AI?
That’s the premise behind @exochain.
Constitutional infrastructure for aligned superintelligence.
No trust. No vibes. Just math.
