Where do you stack up?
Ever wonder if mining bitcoin could be a cheaper way to heat your house? Unsure if it makes sense with your electric and fuel rates? Curious how different miners stack up?
Check out our first @Exergy_LLC vibe-coded web app for hashrate heating calcs. Link and source below
Home mining is an energy problem before it is a hardware problem.
Tonight, the Exergy team joins the TFTC Roundtable to break down power economics, machine selection, heat reuse, and the Home Mining Energy Playbook.

Your mining operation doesn't need to be profitable. It just needs to be useful.
Heat your building cheaper than another fuel.
Pay more for excess solar than grid credits.
Ramp up when profitable.
That’s a much lower bar. And it’s a bar that millions of buildings can clear.
We partnered with @TFTC21 to write a detailed playbook for mining in homes and businesses.
If you enjoyed the report, join us for the upcoming round table meeting to ask questions and deep dive into specifics!

It was fun spending a couple of months working on The Home Mining Energy playbook with @tylerkstevens and @tronsington. As mega miners make an exodus of the grid to support AI infrastructure home miners have an amazing opportunity to scoop up cheap ASICs.
Tyler and Dylan put together the playbook for what to do with them.

The most important thing we’ve learned at @exergy_ in designing hashrate heat and solar monetizing systems is proper sizing.
ASICs are expensive. Traditional heaters are sized for extremes. Optimizing the miner duty cycle is the key to maximizing bang for buck.
"Don't rip out your furnace. Add the miner to it. Think of it like a hybrid car. Gas for the coldest day, miner for the majority of your heating needs." - @tylerkstevens
Bitcoin miners are energy systems. Akin to solar, heating appliances & building batteries. They turn electricity into heat and money.
Turns out buildings need heat, the sun doesn't stop shining, and you like money.
See how hashrate can work for you. Download the report here: tftc.io/home-mining-energy-p…

We put together a playbook for mining in homes and businesses with real data from four of our case study sites.
Tune in to hear why we believe building-integrated hashrate is the future.
TFTC w/ @tylerkstevens & @tronsington: "You don't need to mine profitably. You just need to be useful. One customer got a 3.3x multiplier on his solar. Another cut 45% off his heating bill."
We discuss:
⚡ Sats you never bought
⚡ Non-KYC stacking
⚡ $50 hardware right now

Did you know a quarter of global energy is used just for "comfort heat"? Imagine if we generated all that warm air and water using Bitcoin miners instead.
I had an incredibly fun chat with Tyler Stevens about the hashrate heating movement and what happens to Bitcoin's security budget when normal people start heating their homes with ASICs. Catch the full conversation below.

Likely around 10-20 ZH/s of electric resistive heating energy out there for space and water heat - ready to be captured by a Bitcoin miner.
And that assumes a modest 20J/TH average machine efficiency.
New paper provides scientific validation that Bitcoin improves energy equity
TL:DR: Using Bitcoin mining recycled heat for hot water and space heating in apartments makes heating significantly more affordable for residents, especially in colder climates

FYI you can start pointing Hashrate to the @256FOUNDATION’s open-source mining pool to chance a solo block to fun FOSS mining development.

This but with bitcoin miners that supply heat to the home and monetize excess solar directly. And the AI cards are used for local inference - not feeding your data to the corpo overlords.

I committed to sending at least 5% of @Exergy_LLC 's hashrate to The @256FOUNDATION
You can do it too. Using our DATUM instance on our @start9labs, you can send 5% of your hashrate to The 256 Foundation's @ocean_mining address.
Go to docs.exergyheat.com and learn how to make bitcoin miners part of your smart home.

Some home-focused miners have apps, but none integrate hashrate directly into the smart home
