Most of us know about Gen. Patton’s 3 divisions making a 90 deg turn in snow and battle to help win the Battle of the Bulge. I’m so proud of how our teachers stopped dead in their tracks; with little warning, and valiantly tried to retool and bring lessons to kids in a new way.

I’ve had a lot of different job titles during my career in education. However, the one I prefer and the one that gives me the greatest source of pride by far is: “TEACHER.”

Referenced this book a few weeks ago. I believe in the ideas therein. The coach’s philosophy is built on 14 non-negot. prncipals. Two are: NO SHAMING ANY STUDENT EVER, ATHLETE OR NOT; NO PLAYER WILL ALLOW ANY STUDENT TO EAT ALONE! How might these ideas help your stud’s?

I found this today on L’nked In. Principals, find your “irreplaceables;” tell them and treat them accordingly. Find the right balance for them so they have time to work their magic.

“JUST CAUSE“ and “CAREER TO CALLING” Have you truly found either of these like concepts? I highly recommend these two books but if you can spare just a little time; if you read nothing else this week, read Chapt’s 2 (Sinek) and and Chapt’s 10 and 12 (Maxwell). Enjoy...

“TURN OUT THE LIGHTS; THE PARTY’s OVER.” Coed Bowling is a wrap and one team was left standing. Garner Middle School and Stone Oak Elementary rolled three excellent games but Garner held on to claim the District Championship. Congratulations! See you in January!

SPIRIT OF NEISD - These are the champions from TRANSPORTATION who might not have had the most wins in coed VB; however, they earned a great deal of respect and praise from their opponents for always competing, week after week, in the best “SPIRIT OF NORTH EAST!” Congratulations!

“WILD THING” Garner MS bowlers fought their way into the NEISD COED Bowling Tournament as the “Wild Card” team by scoring the largest overall pin count of all teams who participated over the course of the entire season. Congratulations and well done, Yearlings!

So simple, yet so bursting with emotion, quiet pleading, overwhelming responsibility, and far-reaching implications for a child’s future well being.

Recvd this photo from a thoughtful prncpl this summer. While this type of sojourn is not QUITE what I had in mind when I spoke to princip’s last year, she remembered. As prncpls plan this summer, remember NOT to leave the tchrs behind. You are on a brief sojourn; hear the voices!
